The 5v should be ok. These cams also works as a webcam hooked up 5v from the USB. (Other's have done this mod and confirmed that it works ok at 5v.)

As far as the 40 A Esc is concerned, it's actually the Esc's BEC rating that's important. The cam will be running off the BEC, not the ESC.

To know for sure if the BEC can handle the exta current draw from the cam, you'd have to do some current draw tests to be sure if it's within the BEC's specs.

i purchased the turnigy keychain camera from hobby king around a year ago, and can't seem to get it charging again. When i plug it into my computer the yellow/orange light stays solid, but does not blink (the manual on the hk forums says that it should blink to charge). I havn't tried charging it for more than a few minutes, but as of right now i can't get the light to turn on when not connected to the computer

i just opened it up and then battery may be a little puffed... i dont have another one to base it off of though

A puffed battery is bad news, I wouldnt charge it in that state , its small but it could still go up in flames.

Ok cheers - what's an easy way to do this? I've got a voltmeter etc but have no idea what I need to do or anything

The ESC has a 3A BEC, but I'm wondering with the Servos if the camera will draw too much - we shall see!

With the 3A BEC, you should be fine. The cam only draws ~120mA. The Radian Pro has 6 servos as well, but it's stock BEC is only rated at 700mA. If the RP's 6 servos can operate within 700 mA's, your Bixler probably does too.

I don't know about perverts but - As a private investigator I can tell you I have successfully closed many-a- case using a #3. I could have closed more if it was better in lower lighting conditions.
Leaving it in a room to record have also been successful.
And they get around security stations where you empty your pockets into a bowl.

FWIW. My #7 camera was forgotten about in a car this winter. When I found it of course the battery was dead. I desoldered it from the board and put it on a voltmeter, it only read .1v. So I put it on a charger, nicad setting, at .1amps. The voltage came up right away and I let it charge for about 3 minutes. Then I set the charger to lipo, 1s, .1a and it took a full charge, camera works fine now.

Note, the battery was NOT puffed, and I would NOT ever charge a puffed lipo of any size..
Also FWIQ, I was going to buy a replacment battery from HK,

I have this gadget video camera me too but since a moment there is no more light even after charging the battery.

Do you have an idea about this problem ? I bought it on www.ebay.fr to a chinese seller.

It's genius this little technology to make videos, but me it's not on plane.

my one did the same thing just get a paper clip and press the reset button

I often have pressed the reset button but it's the same, it seems it doesn't work no more.
