Going to order a Keychain Camera from E Bay. I filtered it down to New, Buy It Now, and Free Shipping. Also looking at the Sellers rating. From what I have read in this Thread the 720x480, that requires a T F (mini SD) Card is the way to go! There are hundred's of listings! A lot of them are in the $15.00 range. So can someone recommend a seller! It looks as if they are all the same Brand, that is by the picture's posted on the sellers site. Any other advice will be appreciated

Thanks
Bobby

Anybody come across any good online deals for micro SD cards? DX has a 4Gb class 6 for $12 supposedly but it looks like they are actually out of stock from the comments posted.

Heres a video from mine

The camera is about a third the weight of the plane and I just used a velcro strap around the nose. Made for a very nose heavy setup, landing was very ugly lol but no damage done!

I also strapped the camera to one of my heli's, but the vibration was so much watching the video causes a headache.

Yup, it sure was, next Wednesday I plan on getting another vid, this time flying indoors and I'll place the camera facing rearwards instead Usually a decent amount of air traffic at our hangar sessions so it should make for an interesting video

Also, some mSR onboard video

I need to try and figure out a way to mount it on my MaxiR without it making me want to vomit due to how shaky the video turns out lol

I bought two of these from different sources. One was advertised as 640X480 and the other was advertised as 720X480. Unusual but it appears that both actually do 720X480. The video from either one isn't exactly what I would call HD but more like widescreen. Both do 30fps. Since I ordered both at nearly the same time I have no idea who sent which. All I know is that one was from myzone and the other from elepotane or something to that effect.

A: Dear buyer it was a CMOS camera(25/2=12.5fps),the CCD is our key word. Please understand, thanks!

I'll be unhappy if it's crappy ....

If it is just a CMOS camera and not a CCD, than that is very misleading.

Let us know when you receive it.

I have a very hard time believing any of these cameras are CCD. At 740X480 the sensor would have to be huge. If anyone has one of these that they think is CCD the easiest test would be shooting video through a prop. That will be a dead giveaway. If there are lines it's a cmos.

I just received a 720x480, 30fps, no-onboard-memory "808" Car Keyfob cam purchased on eBay for $15.

I've found that the video is actually 640x480 stretched by 80 pixels. If I force 4:3 aspect ratio then everything looks fine, but if not then the picture is stretched. There are now so many different versions of this cam, though, that I'm not assuming this is the case for all of the key fob cams advertised as 720p.

It's shooting at 30.9 fps (which seems strange to me...), and eating up flash at about 62Mb per minute. It works fine with my Lexar 4Gb microSDHC card.

There were no instructions with the cam but I received an email from seller describing how to set the date and time. It's similar to what's been posted in this thread already, but for ease of reference here's what worked for me:

Time set

1) Delete everything on the MicroSD card.
2) Create a text file called TAG.TXT in the root directory of the MicroSD card.
3) Open TAG.TXT and enter the following, correcting the date and time:

[date]
2009/09/27
21:00:00

4) Save TAG.TXT.
5) Eject and power-on the camera. The system will analyze TAG.TXT, then set system time according to what the file indicates. After that the text file will be deleted by the system automatically.
I'd love to be able to get rid of the date and time stamp altogether but it eases my mind to at least have the correct date and time here. I'm happy with the product, particularly at the price.

Dave
