Magnificant photos.

Can you really see that many stars at night in New York?

You funny
New York is big, the lights in the city do not interfere with the dark skies of upstate. The images of the stars you see in Stan's photo's are slightly brighter that what we saw with our naked eyes. Stan's photo's are times exposure's to capture enough light to make an image. He mentioned 30 sec with the shutter open.

Look's to me like a very wide angle lens, more than 26mm.

Very nice job Stan, I like the angle, and time compromise, so's not to get too much star trail in the shot. I also love the milky way in the background of the trails made by the planes, absolutely stunning.

The Daddy-O looked and flew really nicely - who wants to build one for me? :-)

I'm afraid you are going to have to go old school and build one of your own, or be very convincing.

I will start my Daddy O later when it gets nice and cold outside. A fun winter project. I really like the looks of it. Reminds me of the old Crazy Sparrow Hobby Lobby used to sell. But....looks better! I really like it on floats....
