devFus, the new application to draw fuselages

Today has been released devFus, the new application to draw fuselages.

See http://www.devcad.com/eng/devfus_frame.htm

You can find two versions:
devFus - to create Cad drawings of fuselages
devFus Cam - the same as devFus, but with Cam features to create the GCode-ISO files of the parts to cut

The actual versions are 'rather well' tested beta releases, available only in english

I hope you find devFus useful and easy to use

best regards
Stefano

Hello!
I first write on rcgroups now, because i am excited about that software!

I installed the program but i have some problems when i need to edit the fuselage outlines.(the image shows the problem after pressing the button in the red cyrcle)-I am running Windows Vista.
It seems to be a very interesting program that i sertainly need!I always have problems and dificulties on hand-designing fuselage formers for andvanced airplane designs!

Thank you Stefano for all your job you do on these softwares!

Best regards from Greece!

Does that happens also if you go to modify an existing Project?

Anyway You can go to the Last panel to fiinish the project, then export it and send the exported file to my email info@devcad.com, in this way I can understand where the problem is (it's still a beta...)

thank you for your attenction
stefano

I downloaded it and it installed but when I try to run it I get a dialog about MSVCP71.dll not being found.

Should the dll be included with the app installation?

Looking forward to trying this out.

That file is missing in same Windows version (I discovered that now... ).
I'm uploading a new setup file for both devFus and devFus Cam.
That should fix the problem.

thank you for cooperation

How do you get the formers shaped correctly. I stepped through the Spitfire exampled and it helps understand how to go about creating the fuse. I'm trying to design the Yak-3 fuse but I'm not sure how to go about shaping the formers correctly.

Also, how would you create an angled former. Like the back of the fuse at the rudder joint.

I also have the program, Its a great program but has one thing missing, and that is it dont let you import the cross section of the fuselage that you get on a good 3 veiw plan. unless I am missing something. I am having a real hard time getting a fuselage look right in edit former mode.

See the Help (use the help button), it explains the right way to go
No angled former with the current version, I'm evaluating than for the future

You must draw by hand the outlines, as advised in the help file, as you haven't still a dfo file fot that fuselage

I see a problem in the black background there, something is wrong.
If you finish the project creation, export that project and send me it to info@devcad.com I can take a look at that

Anyway modeling such an odd fuselage can be challenging......
No the simplest as the first project, believe me

You must simply understand the way the formers definition works.
I cannot let the user to import a free section, as it will break the actual strategy.

News of Beta 3:
the actual Beta 3 version can use as background images also DXF or DC1 (devCad) Cad files
