The Cover was Damping a resonance frequency that quelled (Kept it Happy)the Gyro.
Now you have interaction with the Gyro.

Yep as John said...
When I removed the rx cover on my g (when running wk gear) the tail went mad even with high quality gyro tape....refitted the cover and used automotive mounting tape (very similar to the stock) and was fine again.

Dkfuji....that was one nice flight. Setup accounts for some of the heli's flight characteristics but man does Manual have a good set of well tuned thumbs...damn!

changed the pinion and put a new set of main blade, run better than new now!! (really better)

even repaired and balanced the set ive had a crash with would just act funny.
and the new pinion make things run much more smoother, back to stock gyro gain w/o any wags, feel i could even bump it up a little.

cover still out and mounted on gyro foam tape.

Yeah he is really good. I keep hoping if I just kinda hang out with him it will rub off on me. LOL. It is just very cool to see him fly these micros like that. His 1s vid is really good and the heli wasn't even at 100%. Sick.

Yea, all the talk of isolating the rx, and cover on or off, is probably a wild goose chase most of the time. I spent a lot of time messing with the rx mounting on my G3 when it turned out to be the main motor (or maybe the pinion if that's all you changed), must cause pulses or something that you can't feel when spooling up in your hand... The bare rx doesn't give you as much area to get it stuck on good, but if you can it works just as well as with the cover on.

That clear heat shrink on the ESC is pretty heavy for its size, probably will take mine off soon on the G6 along with the rx cover. Also from the factory there's usually big blobs of solder on the battery wire connections, way more than what's needed.

Thats the biggest reason my bro got it. It is one the biggest fast cars he could find. He has a wife and 3 kids so a small sports car was out. They have a huge SUV also but need to be able to fit everyone if he wants to take the car. We have no kids as my wife has MS so 2 seats is all we need. hehe-> http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=229653

Nice choice. I guess that 600e barely squeezes under the rear hatch. LOL. Nothing like strapping 2 seats to 500+hp. Man with all that 3d on top of test flights, my motor bearings are already gone. Had to drop in a new 003 motor in it. Probably the cause of the thermal shut-down during Manny's earlier flight. Next time its all out or nothing!!!

LOL, I dont take the vette to the field. I got a g35 w/Zenetti 5's on it. Back wider than front(staggered). Its not as fast as your daily driver but it is fast. Are you talking about the motor bearings cus my new one is louder than my older one but looks new. Not sure if it is the bearings or not. I was gonna dissengage the tail shaft and see if it is still there.

Yep. The main motor bearings went out causing vib and heat. As a matter of fact Manny just pm'd me about the same problem he's having as well. I just think these little motors are not designed to take the type of flying some of us are putting them thru. BTW, nice field vehicle.

Is that the -05 motor or one of the -03s? My -05 was starting to make a high pitch squeal before I replaced it with an -03... Heat and high speed are not a good combo for any bearing.

Just got another 2-3 grams lower:

It was an 003 motor. I already replaced the 005 motor the minute I spun it up and hovered it for a minute. Yep, the stock 4G6 motor is not very good. Going to have to keep the main motor bearings lubed on this heli. BTW, what is your AUW now?

No battery + stock canopy it's 72g.

With the 500mAh 15C batt it's 86g.

Edit: Wonder if boca bearings would be better on the motor?

Bearing measurements:

1.5 mm ID
4 mm OD
2 mm width

I have 2 of these bearings in my bag of 4#3 bearings, have no idea why or where they came from. The 4#3AB main shaft bearings are the same ID and OD but 1.2mm wide.

I shimmed the head and it is nice and stiff. Flew one pack but it is dark in the backyard. Flies real nice and the blades track perfect now. Last time I tried to shim it I used bearings instead of the factory Walkera spacers and the screws loosened up cus they must not have been able to be tightened all the way. Here is a pic of the shims and the new heli trasporter from Harbor Freight. Wonder why Manny never mentioned anything about shimming the 4G3 or 4G6. I assume he had to put extra shims in the SICK B/L Blade CP Pro to stiffen the head.
