I might get a second G6 and give up on the G3. There's just no consistancy, can work to get the tail holding and then the next day it's not. Still got a few more things to try before I give up...
That's exactly why i gave up on the 4g3. When it flew it flew great but it just would not stay like that for very long. It was great when i first got it but once i went full brushless it just would not cooperate for very long. I cant wait to see how the 4g6 works out for you guys and maybe after they have released the 3rd version i may get one but right now i just want a heli that will fly when i want it to and i dont want one that i have to mod to get to fly right. Funny how my flying has improved now that i have a heli that does not need the constant tinkering with.

I've got a lot of packs on my G6, as to some other people, so far it seems to be a winner with the right motor+pinion. Some gears will have to be kept in stock because of the shaft drive + tail hits, but that's the only week spot so far.

I don't think any version of the G3 has gone this many packs without starting to need some work. So it's looking good.

Cool. Cant wait to see where it is at in a few months. I may pick one up around Christmas time but not if they need the constant tweaking.

with the mod and the guide on the fin on, i had problems with resistance in the guide. not good, maybe lube does the trick, might also be because of my repaired rocker arm - the rod is not in the center of the boom anymore.

used plastic parts of servo links, pressfitted into them the 1mm cf rod.
if the resistance can be removed, nice mod.

ALL my G's are very reliable. I dont know what you mean by that. Do you have the 2g tail motor? If you do you are wasting your time. Just put the right motor on it and be done with it. I have 2 DBL Bl 4G3's with 2.9g tail and they hold sweet. I just sold one that held sweet also. The 2g tail is only good for the 4#3B.

If you get a lot of wag and lower the gyro and get no hold, then it might be the main motor. After a few crashes you can get a slight bend in the brushless motor shaft. I sent my Medusa motor to be checked out and they said I had a very slight bend in the shaft. They straightened it out and when I got the motor back my W52 flew fine again. The tail wag used to drive me nuts chasing down the cause.

So might work for fixing your 4g3 and might be something to look out for when a 4g6 starts having problems.

You're lucky, the 4G3 threads are full of people like me that have problems with the tail.

And yes, I've got the 2.9g motor on the tail. I'd hate to go back to the 2605 rx from the A version and not be able to bind in 2801 mode, but that will be my next step after trying a few more things.

Anyway, if someone comes out with an esc that can take the rudder output from the rx on the G6 that would be nice (maybe one already exists?). The gyro on the G6 seems to deal with vibration way better than the G3 one, blades a little unbalanced doesn't make the G6 go crazy...

A feigao ESC modified for 1s should handle the gyroed signal from the 4g6 rx.

Good tip, haven't thought of the motor causing it...

Huh, I thought the only guys having problems were using the 2g tail motor. What is your gyro at bro? I turn mine all the way up untill it shimmys back and forth so then I know I have it too high, Then I back it down from there untill the shimmy goes away. I do that with all my helis even all the way up to my 600. As far as I have been able to tell most gyros there is only a 5%-10% window where the gyro will work well.

May have been the motor, I also made a bunch of other changes. No wag at 80-85% gyro. I'll post in the 4G3 thread if it stays good for a bunch of packs (and with the canopy on).

Back to the 4G6: Here's a picture of where I've decided to keep the ESC, just have to trim the clear heat shrink around the wires so they can come out 90° to the bottom of the ESC.

Here is the vid of my 2S 4G6 flown by buildem336 this morning. Pretty happy with the way she turned out. BTW, yes that is my 300C with the trunk open (aka micro heli hanger). LOL.

if someone wonder whats the weight of the 4G6 2in1 cover, 0.6g (~1 - 1.1g with ESC shrink wrap)

funny thing, its writen "4G3-H 2.1" on the 4G6 unit.. heh

now at 86.6g rtf all stock w/ 400 20c lipo

ESC temp is much more lower w/o shrink wrap

since i removed the cover and used good quality thick double sided foam tape the heli wags more than ever?!?
