My special thanks to:
Shhhhh!(wings and fuses)
Guz(for the parts that I lost, an extra wing, and helping set up my radio)

RCGeorge(for helping finish construction, trimming out the plane, and tips on throwing form)

Now we've just got to get Leenumber4 back.....
P.S. The attached picture is only a little funnier knowing where it came from.

Well we practiced the all-up first-down task today. While it was a total blast, things starting getting more and more aggressive as we tried to lower our times. George was able to pull off a 15-second task for 2-loops and 2-rolls followed by a catch. He turned off rudder mix which really helped to sneak in 1-roll on the up hill portion of the launch. I could only manage 19-seconds leaving the rudder mix on since the rolls were considerably slower.
Due to how fast we were coming in for the catch and the fact in some cases the dives were straight down with full flaps, we'll scrub this task for the upcoming contest since we're hoping to attract some new pilots. There would be too much congestion and fast moving planes, so this task needs to be held during a fly-off with a small number of pilots.
So we'll start a sign-up thread tonight, and so far these are the tasks:
1. Vu's 2.5 x 4 with two pilots alternating the throw (use own radio & plane)
2. Dave's 2.5 x 4
3. Scott's Yahtzee (ladder in any order)
4. Lee's 1 x 10

I managed to scratch out a 5min flight today! It was, from an outside perspective, pretty sloppy, and you guys could've done MUCH better with that thermal, but I'm happy with it...or I WAS happy.
I made the mistake of trying to dial in some settings a little better. I had forgotten to copy the original settings to another "slot", and ended up hosing the whole thing.
I didn't know there were "bumps" in the learning curve.

Do those of you that use a glove on your throwing hand just use regular ol' baseball batting gloves?
Also, does anyone know where I can get a cheap, but effective stopwatch with BIG LCD numbers?
We picked one up at Dick's on Saturday, but we've found it's WAY to easy to accidentally "double-tap" the button. I know I don't want MY timer using that watch!
P.S. Geroge, i'm working on the video you requested, but as I was getting ready to finalize the editing, the program shut down...GGGRRRRRR!!!!!!

Tim - either a batting glove or a golfing glove will work. Some people cut off 3 fingers and only leave the 2 throwing fingers covered, but it's up to what feels best for you.
I like the Radio Shack stop watch with big LCD numbers. They run $15.99:

Here's the video. I sure hope the quality gets better as the video is "processed".
