Bad Evo Power Switch?

Guys, remember the plane I splattered on Sunday, when it looped after launch and went straight into the ground? Had the same thing happen today during lunch-launch-practice, and saw that the power LED was dark, even though the switch was in the on-position. Slid it to off, back to on, and just barely managed to save the plane.

That was the third time this has happened. Always, once the slider was moved back and forth, the Evo functioned as before. The battery is and was charged, and connections are solid.

Is anyone aware of a replacement power switch? If not, then I'll try to get into the switch and maybe use some contact spray. The intermittent nature of this bug makes it hard to track.

Charles if it was me I'd look for another radio to use until i got that radio sorted out. You've lost enough planes to a faulty radio.

Just my $.02

Yeah, time to take the never-used Evo 12 out of the box. Up until now, I just figured it was my fat fingers at work. How you liking the Aurora?

I am very happy with my Aurora. It is not as flexible as the Evo but I does what I want and I like the feel f it in my hands.

Unfortunately we've seen these EVO switches fail in a few local radios. I don't know any way other than sending the radio in for switch replacement. You can try contact cleaner, but in the long run it's not worth putting in planes because of a $2 switch. Maybe when you switch over to the EVO 12, the other radio can be sent in.

I know some people were talking about the DLG write-up in the new AMA, and how it was from an "old" contest. In fact, the pictures are from a previous contest, but the write-up was from this year, when Jim T."Billy Hell" Graham interviewed Bruce about DLGing.

I don't think there's any big secrets given away, but it's a good article for drawing in people that might be on the fence.

Tim I just read the article on the flight to Chicago. Overall I thought it was a good read.

Had to be a fairly recent interview since Bruce stated me flys the sirrius and the Polaris from momentum.
