Help!
Lipo Survives 4 Days into a Dead Short !!!!! How does this happen ???

I left my Thunderpower 3 S 2200 mAH LIPO on for 4 days, it ran down in the first hour and was into a dead short with ZERO voltage for 4 days I charged this LIPO as a NIMH so that the charger would recognize it, and brought it up to 12.6 volts again. When I cycle it, I am getting about 1800 mHA capacity from it, and it held a charge overnight.

From what I read this is impossible, but it happened

Not impossible.
Before you trust this too much, you must know of few things.
1- Even though it took a charge, it is quite damaged
2- It may last another 30 cycles if you are lucky
3- It won't push the amps out like it used to
4- You lost several hundred mah so if you can only put 1800 back into it best to treat it as a 1500 10C pack
5- Put a special mark on it to remind you of it's past
6- For at least the next 3 charges, be extra extra respectful of it
7- If you don't plan to STAND THERE watching it charge best to plug it back into whatever drained it the first time till at zero volts and then toss it in the trash
8- The easier you discharge it the longer it will last
9-
10-
...
Best to do #7

This one lasted for just over 100 addational cycle (225 total) but it was only about 70% of it's former self.

I just cant beleive it, this 3 year old LIPO was at ZERO voltage for 4 days, and it charged up like nothing ever happened I just did a normal charge at 1 amp, cycled it once to check for capacity, and its good as new...

I did not expect this to work, I just charged it to see what would happen. This is one I use for electronics, so it never sees any really big current demands.

Thunder Power 3 Cell 2200 mAH 3 years old.

2200 - 1800 = 400mah lost. Not exactly as "good as new" but still works. Just don't push it hard as it is rated. Not bad for a 3 year old lipo though no matter how you look at it.

I think the batts are getting better by the month. I lost my heli in the bush for a week, about a month ago. Showed no voltage whatsoever. Put it on the Multi pro and it went to low voltage setting. It took a while but charged it full with all cells balanced. This is a year old 1750 Zippy Rhino. I marked it LOW on the end as I have two of them. Using them on the same heli and can't tell the difference in the run time between the two batts. Who was it that said Better Living Through Chemistry??

Apparently you are not familiar with the meaning of the phrase "dead short". Your battery was discharged but by no means a dead short which would have killed it in "short order" (sorry).

After the voltage was gone, it was 4 days into a dead short. Once the voltage was down to zero, it would not have mattered if the battery wires were soldered together or the electronics were left on. Zero is Zero

True. but discharged is not dead short. If shorted a battery has much less chance of recovery compared to simple discharge. There is a significant difference.

Another major factor is how long it stayed in the discharged state.

Totally discharged, ZERO voltage 4 days When the voltage is zero, it does not matter if its a normal load, or a dead short, zero is zero...

I'm not sure what this guy's angle is, but he's been posting a lot of wild claims about LiPos, and purposely giving bad advice to others as some kind of joke. It's more annoying than anything else, in my opinion.

No wild claims here, thats the way it happened. The other pack has pictures to prove it. Just because its not the way you think it should be, is not a good reason to dismiss it.

In science they have a saying:

Results trump theory every time, and I have the results. Does not match your preconceptions, but thats the way it is.
