Hi Rudi,

Oh my! That is the best Sunderland I've seen yet! Stunning work.

Will you cover some of it with tissue paper and WBPU? Or just go for an acrylic paint scheme?

Cheers,
Regards Al

Al's Sunderland retirement plan.

Hi Rudi,

The tissue paper and WBPU is a great way to go for these water craft.

My Sunderland needs a major refit, only because of the abuse she has taken from me with high stress flying and handling, she still flys ok, but not as new. I have to move living accomodation here soon, and the new place is smaller so not the space available. I think I would rather spend the effort and time on a new project in the future, say next year sometime.
We have a saying from old days in UK, maybe you know it? "There is no point in flogging a Dead Horse" My Sunderland is not yet dead, so after one or two more flights she will be retired and recycled.
Keep up the great work on the "New Sunderland" and I look forward to the maiden and other flights of her. Cheers,

Regards to all, Al

Hi Al,

I understand but to be honest I would never be able to retired such a project. If I lost one in flied than o.k or to sell one to finace the next o.k but to retire it in that way in not acceptable for my ego . Do you never thought about to offer it via ebay ?

Updade: I made the funny half eggs which are on the outer wings.Ca somebody tell me what this is ?

Hello domll,

many thx ! As you can see in the picture I cutted out the bull eys from the plan so I get a template which I can copy to the hull. With a black pen I draw it to the depron and than I cut it out with a sharp knife (scalpel)
I made the hinges from old computer disks and the movement will be done from 0,8 mm steel wires which are running in thin aps pipes.

Update:

Yesterday I have soldered the motors and glued them to the nacelles. Looking good so far. Now I am waiting for the plastic screws and nuts.
