The plane is modeled after the second "Man-o-War" B-17G assigned to 322nd BS/91st BG flying out of Bassingbourn, UK. She flew 77 missions between February and November 1944 and was lost over Merseburg on 11/20/1944. Last edited by doc-e; Sep 21, 2009 at 04:15 PM. |

Prototype Flies at the 2009 neat Fair!
If you were at the noon show on Sunday than you got to see this awesome prototype model on its second flight. Once it is in production it will be marketed by Zeke’s Park Scale Models in kit form.
http://www.parkscalemodels.com/shop/ It is a scale model of the Republic XF-12 Rainbow.(only one ever constructed) The specs that Zeke gave me are: AUW of 6 pounds, 80 1/5 inch wingspan, powered by 4 Tower Pro 2410-9 Outrunners, 4 Turnigy 18 amp ESC’s, 1 3S 3000 Mah lipo and covered with “bright Silver” covering from Hobby City. Control surfaces are Rudder, Elevator and Ailerons. It was also fitted with pneumatic Retracts. This prototype was controlled with a Spectrum DX7 TX and Spectrum receiver. Personal note: Cool, a giant scale Park flier! Last edited by datazman; Sep 21, 2009 at 04:20 PM. |

I saw the maiden flight on Saturday at dusk. I believe they intended some "high-speed" taxing runs, but, as it often happens, these turn into a maiden flight. It is a beautiful model and seems to fly great. I'm also waiting for their Boeing-727 which they had framed up on display at their booth.

Datazman I was not in the mood to bother someone while busy photographing .Even Scott from Crasher videos.I want to take the time thank you for sharing the memories ! The time and effort you put into having fun is exactly what this planet needs ... more people like yourself ! I host and attend a number of events across the country on a regular basis and know what it takes to pull off a safe and eventfull gathering. Threw your work I'm able to leisurely scroll threw the thread and enjoy what ya caught ! Thanks Brother ! Ya missed some cool action down my end by the park fliers but none the less your photos are "GREAT" ! With sharing so I can tell my flying buddys that didn't make it , I now can rub it in so they will "Definitely make it in 2010 . Castle went right threw his plane and he came in like a sport .I was fortunate to be camped next to him and his wife, with there precious treasure. Datazman, I'm lookin to hangin with ya next year ...You rock ! ............Dan ,it's the MCRCS club......Shaz filled me in with Mark and a few others going.....I didn't tell you but at WRAM show I took best heli and best 10 scale paint in Cars......Don't tell AMA but three remote ester rockets on each skid that worked !, Custom wired,Led,incandescent, and neon rope lights, working pinhole camera, custom airbrush with skull that has eyes that light up.every carbon and anodized upgrade on a simple Raptor 30...I still have but took rockets off cause I set the weeds on fire ....just alittle we thing ya know....Dan ,let me know if your going kiddo !

Cr@sh:
I am deeply touched by your words of encouragement as I put enormous effort into my photography work. You make a point that I have already thought of myself as I look through the flurry of images that I took this past weekend. I fell short of covering the Park Flyer area, the Helicopter area and shooting some of the participating pilots own planes. If I am allowed the same privilege next year of having free rain to go any ware and shoot anything I want, I will be keeping my shortcomings in the back of my mind. On the positive side, I shot mostly noon time photos of airplanes in the air and everyone stops doing what they are doing to watch that and can imagine being at this years NEAT through that coverage. My photos of the people my wife and I met along the way is also a great way that viewers can experience the camaraderie of an event like this. I could go on but really want to finish tonight with the images I have left to upload. Your input is heard and heartfelt. Paul |

CapMike:
Just let me know if you would like some of the photos in full size and I will get them to you guys. Oh and before I forget, I want one of the first kits for a winter project. A Giant scale light weight park flyer with retracts is right up my ally. Paul |

Very nice job. Awesome shots, I love the P-51 inches, cough cough, mm's from the ground.
Did you get any shots from the slow fly contest? |

That shot of the mustang was shot with me on one knee and crouching, thank you for the compliments. Unfortunately I was doing something else during the slow fly contest. Paul |

In this group is the Mud Duck (multi colored, yellow belly and big wheels) that is marketed by Mud Duck Aviation.
http://www.mudduckaviation.com/ The Red wing Wright flyer is a conversion that is sold by Radical RC http://www.radicalrc.com/shop/?cart=3090823&cat=249& I do not have any information on the model with the lightning bolt on the side. |
