Hey Guys,

I keep coming back to this glider Problem is, I don't have a slope close. Would it be worth setting up for aero tow ?

I'm trying hard to justify clicking the buy button

Joe

It would aero tow, but with a wing loading of roughly 18ozs/sq.ft. and a relatively low aspect ratio wing, it isn't going to stay up long unless you centre on a fairly large thermal.
Maybe Ming has tried this already?

The fuse is large, so there's plenty of room for radio gear. No problem fitting this plane with a tow release. I will surely add this to mine.
Sorry, this building project is currently halted.

I'm still waiting for the radio gear to arrive. BTW, I noticed a few things during initial inspection of the ARF. The shear web seemed thin for my taste. So was the root rib. This plane being a gull wing, these factors may be fatal. So, Ming at Windrider took this advise, and beefed the spar system of the production model, and that's what you will receive.

Thanks for that information, and a thank you to Ming for taking action on your findings.
Hopefully my Habicht will be shipped tomorrow, so not long to wait now!

Radio gear arrived today. All Sanwa gear. 2.4 Ghz Rx and digital servos. Hehehe. Will use 5 cells to power these servos.

I ordered direct from Windrider.com.hk
I believe this is the only option for UK buyers at the moment.

One of the first blue Habichts in the UK has arrived, perhaps the first!
Well done to Ming for his fast service as the parcel was dated 9th October and it arrived here in the UK this morning. Everything was very well packaged and nothing has been damaged in it's voyage half way around the world. The build will be fairly slow due to work constraints, but I will post my progress as and when I can. The overall quality is excellent, especially given the price, with all of the covering being taught and the finish on the GRP fuz perfect. The hardware pack looks very comprehensive and I didn't realise that this glider has scale operating airbrakes too, brilliant! The only additional items I will need are a pilot and some extra decals as this 'blue' Habicht is to represent that of the Wasserkuppe museum in Germany, but I'm sure they won't be much of a challenge to replicate.
OK, I'm off to examine the plane more closely before I go to work, and maybe just drool over it a little bit longer!

Innards.

Slow progess, isnt it. Work and family is taking their toll on me. Hopefully, I can get some building done today.
So, here's a picture of the radio gera I will be using for this plane. All Sanwa/Airtronics gear.
Rx: 92824. 2.4G 8 ch.
NiCD: 1700 mAh 4 cell.
Aileron servo: SDX-757. Digital. One on each wing.
Elevator servo: SDX-762. Digital.
Rudder servo: SX-165T Analog Hefty 9.5 Kg of torque!! Probably an overkill.
Spoiler servo: Sx-091. One on each wing.
Tow release: SRM-141AL. Analog. Long time favorite of soar-heads.
So, lets see what happens.

Hi
Dare we ask the price delivered to you in the UK?

Any idea who will handle import into the UK?

I haven't bought a new 'plane for weeks!

Pete

1) 178 of the Queens finest £££'s with no duty to pay

2) Sussex Models or Modelmaniacs online maybe?

3) Buy one now, it's superb! (although it's not built yet )
