Question
Rhino battery balance tap question.

I use a triton2/equinox charging setup.....and I have adapters to fit Thunder Power packs. I don't have an adapter to go from the new Rhino's to the eqionox. Not sure what the "name" of the balance tap I NEED is....or what you call the rhino job. BUT....I don't wanna charge w/o balancing these new batts.

Can't all the battery connectors out there just get along!?!

Battery in question...

Nearly all China sourced lipolys use JST-XH taps. Assuming you already have a 4S Female Polyquest adapter that fits your Equinox, you need a 4S Female JST-XH to Male Polyquest.

I found this....
http://www.rcaccessory.com/pdf/Batte...on%20Guide.pdf

from what I can tell on that spreadsheet.....the Align/JST is the same as the Rhino?? Thats not the case here in Gunnison. Or am I just not "getting it"?

Is it possible to buy the actual balance tap plug from somewhere and switching over the tap on the battery? Rather than using an adapter?

EDIT: I started a wanted thread. Hopefully I'll get some help.

Yes. Align / JST-XH are synonymous. JST is a connector manufacturer. Their XH connector is the most widely used balance tap and is ubiquitous in nearly all packs sourced from China, including Rhino.

RCAccessory's battery tap configuration guide is an excellent resource and is very accurate. Only update that I'm aware of that isn't included in this guide is that Impulse switched from Polyquest to Thunder Power taps a few years ago.

The equinox balancer should come with JST-XH connectors, unless I missed something

Forgive me if I"m being thickheaded....but wouldn't that mean that my Rhino SHOULD attach to my equinox with no trouble?? Cuz...thats not the case.

I don't own an Equinox but assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that it came with the same connectors as the Hyperion LBA6 which is identical to the Equinox. The LBA6 came standard with Hyperion/Polyquest adapters which is why made the recommendation found in post #2 above. It would seem odd to me if the Equinox were equipped with different connectors than its Hyperion brother.

Perhaps others who own an Equinox can comment? Alternately, if you can post a photo of the 4S adapter that came with your Equinox this puzzle can be solved with certainty.

Somebody is missing something....I think its me.

I've only ever ran into align/jst and Thunder Power balance tap connectors. I got some adapters from horizon a long time ago to deal with the difference in Align and Thunder power.

Nothing I have works. Hopefully I have something coming that will help me out. If not...I"m gonna hack up some connectors as explained to me by another member. But I'd much prefer to either solder on new ones or use a nice little adapter.
