For those of you using motrolfly, how long are the spacers you used for mounting? What kind of battery do you use? I'm having a little trouble with being nose heavy using 3/4" spacers and a 4S 4000 mah. I don't really want to move the rudder servo.

3/4"?? I thought it was more like 1/4". (not sure, not at home)...

Interesting. RCGirl found that hers was also a little nose heavy too. I've got a NIB 57 SC that I'll be building soon and I think I'll do the rudder servo last to make sure I don't have balance problems. I had zero issues with a pull/pull setup on my last SC (RIP... Dang midair took her out).

Edit.....I have been told that with the aluminum you still have to drill the firewall, sorry for this misinformation....

Neither the fiberglass mount. Just got the Motrolfly with fiberglass mount from an RCG member and it ain't gonna fit without redrilling. Both the plane and motor are second hand so things may have changed.

I bought mine brand new lightened version/fiberglass X mount from Ken. My plane was second hand though. I had to re-drill.

All this talk of re-drilling made me open the box and check the new 57. The lightweight aluminum mount will fit fine, without re drilling. Provided I properly drill the first time, the firewall is marked but not drilled.

Pretty sure I checked the two mounts (LAM and the LFGM) when I got them. Can't check right now, but I'll get back to you.

Got one flight in yesterday. 35F and Sunny but felt pretty cold. Light crosswind breeze. Hobby stuff had not gone well this day on the bench, was just out of Sync all day... Probably should not have flown, head wasn't in it. Today I have a migraine, so maybe that is why I was off kilter...

Had to fly at the alternate site, the Voices told me to go home, but I didn't listen. Stuff always happens when I do that and it almost did at the beginning and did when I botched the landing trying to swerve to miss a storm grate. Chewed off my new Xoar 15x7. I cut that off to shorten the vid. Makes me too aggravated when I watch it. Did order a new 15x7 and a 15x8 to try this time.

Best thing in this vid is a pretty airplane against an Awesome Blue Sky! For once No Grey Clouds to fly against!

57 Extra 330 SC Cold Flight (3 min 22 sec)
