Thanks for the replies guys. Yep I can't wait to get more time on this plane, it really is sweet.

How would I go about doing that? I will surely investigate it.

As for the servos... My 5245's are wonderful! No centering issues at all. That's odd that you are experiencing centering issues on all of them though. Makes me wonder if perhaps there's another root cause besides the servos.
I kind of wondered this myself. The only other thing I could think of would be rx? But I'm not sure why all 4 suffer the same issue. They will center sometimes, but quite often they won't.

Ohio,
From your previous posts on the 47 I would surely think you would love this plane.

Steve,
I did look at those yesterday after I came home from maiden. That is definitely some coin, but so are the 9650s and Savox 1290s. For a little more cost I could up the voltage to those servos.

Thanks all,

Mike

you would need a servo programmer... im just guessing but doc austin was once dissapointed in a couple of 5085, wich didnt center also, and it turned out a deadband issue... actually next month im planing to get one myself, since i will use hitec digitals in 2 planes and would be just nice to have programmer.. and savox 1290 is standart size servo, not mini... you meant 1250?

Oops 1250, yes. I'll have to look into a programmer for hitec and see if I can get the centering better. I did a little reading after your post and came across this:

"The reason this happens is that Futaba radios expect center at 1520usec or close to that and center on a Hitec servo is 1500usec. When programming center you need to have the receiver setup so you can switch between it and the programmer to get the center perfect. "

I am using a 6208 rx and 8fg tx.

I think once my 5245's start to go, I'll switch to Savox units.

Please help with a dilemma. I have a 59 Slick with a 4315-668 in it. I have another new 4315-668 and a new E-Flite power 46. The E-Flight weighs just under an ounce more than the Motrolfly with all hardware.
I am about to build a 57 Extra SC and a 60 inch Extreme Flight Extra.
2 of them are getting the Motrolfly's and 1 is getting the E-Flight.

Which 1 should get the E-Flight?

I had a Power 52 on my 57, until I dumb-thumbed it and broke a few of the magnets. I ran it on 6s and it had crazy power, and was still decent to 3D. 4s would be more 3D friendly, but I am already set up on 6S, so....

One of the older guys at my field bought my older 59 slick. I was running a 4315 on 4s4000. He had a e-flight 46 laying around and we tried it out on 4s4000. It seems to be plenty (for sport and light 3d) which is perfect for him. In other words I think it would be fine on the lighter 57 extra.

I am planning on running the power 46 on 5 cells. 14x7 or a 15x6. I am easy on the throttle. I have a power 46 in a Sig Somthin Extra that I converted from gas. It rips on a 14x7 with a 5 cell.

Team,

I am in need of the vertical stabilizer section of the 57" Extra for a repair that I am doing for the Build and Repair Thread. If anyone has a crashed plane laying around that they are willing to part with it would be great.

Please contact me for to resolve shipping and payment issues.

Probably the 57 but that's a tough call. Currently I'm taking the 70" Slick, 57" SC, and the 51" Slick with me every time I head out. It's the perfect combo.
