Just ordered six new 6s 2200mah batteries for the 57"!

Also, an iCharger 306B w/power supply and para-board!

Upgrading to the Glacier Lipos from three VERY tired Blue Lipos.

Freekin' excited! This is going to equal WAY more flying!

I'm thinking the 2200's might not give you much flying time... Did you mean that you got 6 new 3s 2200's that you plan to run in a series for 6s flying??

Nope

6s 2200mah gives me about six and a half minutes per pack. I'm usually about ready for a breather after six minutes anyways.

Besides I like how 6s feels (rocket ship!!!) and the smaller capacity batteries keep the AUW down

Interesting. I guess I thought that 2200's wouldn't give you enough flying time. BUT... I do use 6s 3000's on my EF 60" Edge and I get an easy 6 minutes on those batteries.

I'm running an Infinite S-4020-540kv (scorpion knockoff) and Xoar 15-7 prop.

This setup has absolutely ballistic performance on 6s and also floats pretty well with the smaller packs.

My flying style is more low & slow with bits of precision and a few high energy tumbles thrown in. Spend most of my time floating around in high alpha doing rollers and stuff.

The E max is rated up to 1200 watts and 8 lbs of thrust pulling a 15x8 on a 4 S, shouldn't that be about the same?

APC 15 x 8E: 133 oz thrust at 55 amps (830 watts)
With a Sky Power 80A ESC. I use the Sky Power 60A on my 48" Edge with the Omega 130 and it is very nice. The Hacker A40-12S is out of stock at 3DHS.

This E max motor is only about $50 so I figured I'd give it a try. The guys at Heads up have been good to me.

Opinions. I know the Motrolfly is getting alot of press for these planes lately.

I want to stay with 4S.

heads up lists the 1200 watts on 6s and a smaller prop, not good for 3D

You can certainly try that motor, it will pull the plane around, but you will more than likely want more and end up with two motors which will cost you $50 more than if you just got the motor everyone is recommending in the first place. my 2cents

I'm going with the 4315-480 on 6s

an other consideration, resale value, if you ever want to sell, motrolfly = 80-90% of retail, emax = 20-30%

Ok guys. You have me rethinking now. Your points and comments are appreciated. Gotta pay to play!

Is anyone using 4s on this plane? 3D does have the Hacker 4s setup.

I know a lot of people are. I will be running the motrofly 4315-714kv motor with a 15x8 xoar and 4-cell 4000mah.

Yeah In fact I'd guess almost 50% of the people are using 4S. The MF 4315-714, MF 3620-750, Hacker A40-10S 750. All fly great on 4S. Even the Hacker A40-12S flys it on 4S just use at least a 15x8 prop.

Ridiculously good combo there. I have it and couldn't be more thrilled.

Hey, just curious where you all get para boards? I've been getting mine from Progressive RC. Thanks

? What is the diff between the -10s and -12s? Is it a lower kv? Not sure on all the motor codes yet. Thanks. I will go with the H a40-10s and swing a 14x7 or 15x7 I guess.
