57" Extra is just a fantastic all around plane!! Nuff Said!!!

I agree. It does everything you throw at it very, very well. The only thing that I feel like it makes me work for is a good hover and torque roll.

Tumbles like a drunk gymnast, and flies some crisp lines. But yes, hovers are a bit of work.

red or yellow scheme? cant decide!

Red always flies better!! And for myself, it is easier to see. I have the red one, my son had the yellow one.....

I sure hope someone has one of these at the Hucktoberfest in Austin. I have not seen one fly and Joe tells me this is one of his favorites so it's a must find out. I love Extra's but had been thinking of an Edge next time. I think at some point I want to replace my daily 48" flyers with on in the 60" range.

Fyi, I fly mine on a scorpion 3026-710 on 4s 4000's, and I am using a 14x7 and it works out great! I had been using apc's for the past year and a half on it, but just switched to the falcon.

I have never flown the 47, but I do also own the 87. The 87 has more area so it doesn't get quite as balled up in tumbles as the 57, but other than that I think they fly similarly. I love both of them. Because my 57 flew so well, I decided to go with the 87 instead of the 89.

Wow Joe I see why you say this is your favorite. I so enjoy watching you fly. What throw rates do you have on this? I ask because I see some fast rolls and turns coming out of a slow Harrier flight.

Thanks I think it's setup for around 55 elev. max rudder, and 40 aileron.

My 57 SC Thrashed and Shelled some Beans today at Newark! Seriously!

Bean Dipped too low and got snagged on the left gear, both Elevator balance tabs were jammed with strands and it pulled me down, broke my prop from all the chopping. Did not contact the ground, was suspended 2ft off the ground floating on thick soybeans. Broke my left counterbalance tab, popped a top skin piece out.

Fixed it and was in the air within 15 minutes to fly the rest of the pack.

Flew without the SFG's today cause we had such strong crosswinds all day. Really helped on the landings, not bad at all! Also seemed to make it Inverted Flat Spin like a crazy Frisbee! Seemed to have a lot more Yaw action, loose acting.

I totally had a Blast with it in all that wind! I left at 2pm to go pickup some camper parts. Now at home it has been blowing gusting around 30-40mph! Lights keep flickering in here....

There should be some good pics up later or tomorrow. Pro camera with huge lens.
