OK guys... I can't take it any more. Gotta make my decision tonight.

Options are: 70" Slick / 57" Extra 300 SC

If you had one, which would it be? Which do you fly most? If I have a 70" is it even worth getting a 57"?

Out of yellow, eh? That might be making up my mind for me... I really don't like the red.

Thanks

57 is small enough to take everywhere.. and a really great plane.. but the 70 is very stable as well.. Blue Yellow / White 57 .. batteries are cheap too.

IMHO both are great planes.. just depends how much room you can fit in your car..

They are so different in size and cost that it's hard to compare them.

If money isn't an issue, the size isn't inconvenient to store and transport, and you have a great place to fly it, the bigger plane is always going to be better.

57" is about as big as I am going to be able to go for tramsport, storage and financial reasons. I'm going to look hard at the 66" Vyper because I've got four 5s 3850 packs I'm not otherwise using, but that's going to be a big damm airplane for me.

Doesnt really seem that much bigger, meaning the 65 Vyper.. but flies SOOOO WELL.. I really like the way the 57SC flies though.. the 70" Slick just flies like a Giant Scale though.. Ben let me tug on it and I was so impressed with its presence.

I haven't flown a 70" Slick yet (people say it's awesome), and there's a continual stream of planes in the pipeline that will be out really soon, but the 57" 300SC in my honest opinion, is the...

...that said, "the bigger the better", etc etc. There is no wrong choice, but best of luck in making it.

As others have said, you can't go wrong on either. That being said, if you ask my personal opinion I still love the size and price of the 57" SC where it's still a big plane but still can also fit in my Honda Civic with 3 other planes and go to the field.

What are people's opinions on direct vs. pull-pull for the rudder on this plane? (Or is direct even an option?)

I'm using a GR-60 motor w/ 4000 mah 4s packs.

It uses pull-pull. The first several pages of this thread have a nice build sequence with photos.

I watched IPSMotors' build videos and he shows the pull-pull, too. Was just curious if it was an option to go direct on this one, like it is on some of your other planes.

With the heavier motor and batteries I was wondering if I'd be better off going that way if it was an option. But if it's not, then it's a moot question!
