After last week's epic carnage I am not very amused.

Yes. An utterly catastrophic propeller failure. One blade sheard off flush with the hub and it shook the plane apart before I knew what had happened. After that it fell out of the air like a ton of crap and that was the end of it. It's fixable, but it would never be the same. I love this plane too much to fly it all patched up and ratty looking. I'll just get another one.

I was really diggin' it..... right up until I got killed.

This is the flight before the accident. Sorry, no carnage on this vid.

BoneDoc,

Awww man, that sucks. I am assuming APC-E 15x7 prop right? The thing just sheared off? That makes me a little nervous. I am sorry for your loss man. Good video though.

Probably really just need to have an excuse to get another plane ...

thanks

OK... I'm getting this plane and using the 6S packs I have. I pretty much have to use a Scorpion motor. Wondering... should I be using a:

3026-xx (7 OZ... heard it can be hard to balance?)
3032-xx (9.7 oz)
4020-16 or 14? (10.7 oz)

Also... thinking ICE-Lite 100 or 75 and using the internal BEC.

Cheers!

APC-E 16/8. Yeah, now I'm nervous too. I'm switching to Xoar wood.

Yeah...I use xoar on my 51" and larger planes. Ive been looking at the Turnigy wood props but they never seem to have the size i want.

Doc-
The slow roll at high speed at 1:50 was sweet!!! Man, you sure got comfortable with that plane fast. Sorry, to hear about the crash...

You going for the same color scheme?

Well, that's definately something to be thankful for. I'm still limping around, so getting that angry was definately a bad decision.

I just came home, dropped the whole mess on the workbench, and haven't looked at it since. I came inside, sat down at the computer, and first thing.... wrote Ben and ordered two more kits.

After the first flight yesterday I moved the aileron pushrod out another whole at the servo. Before I was running out of aileron in a hover, but after that it was much, much better. I had done the same thing last time out with my Edge 540 made it made all the difference.

With all the extra aileron authority I had control of the SC almost right down to when it was completely stopped. You can see in the video how much hard I could push the plane at slow speed. It's almost getting to be like a video game with this plane.

That's probably why it hurt so much to lose it. It was just flying too well.

Jim will be back in town Thursday. If the kits get here in time we're going to pull an all nighter and build them both!

Thanks, Matt. Yeah, the SC has so many of the SHP's good characteristics that learning the plane was just a matter of thinking of the plane as an SHP and then pushing it harder and harder. It didn't take long to get comfortable with it.... about as long as it took to check the trims. What took the time was believing I could get more and more and more out of the plane. It is truely an amazing upgrade over the SHP.

Light weight rules.

I'm hoping Ben has one of each in stock. I'll take whatever I can get. I just don't want to be without an SC... ever.
