Hi Guys....

My son just ordered some of these Rhino 4000mAH 25C packs, which are only .9524 ounces heavier than these Rhino 3700mAH 25C packs. He doesn't have his plane yet (It's on the way) so we had to measure my plane, but found that they would fit just fine....

Nominal weight difference, but should give a bit more flying time.

For mine, which I have yet to start building, (finishing up a Hyperion "Wolf Samson ll" bipe), I'll be using Thunderpower 3850mah 30 packs, and either a GR-45, or GR-60 (I have both brand new in the box)

The Turnigy packs have been good for me in other sizes.

I have the Turnigy 20c and Rino 30c. I recomend the Rino: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/...?idProduct=7656

After 7 minutes of hard flight pushing my Reaper 60, the Rino 4000 4s 25c has 20% of the battery remaining and not even close to warm.

Peace,
D-Man

As to motor setups you would need a motor in the about the 500 KV area and a solid 14" to 15" prop with a solid 60A-80A ESC.

Cool... thanks for the reply.

I'll look around for motors in that range... so far I've been happy with Scorpion in my helis, esp for the price. I can get an ICE 100 on the cheap, so I should be money!

Mine literally weighs "nothing".

Still working on killing the SHP so I can justify the SC

My gosh BoneDoc you really look strange. You seem to have lost your hair so quickly. I don't recall you having a receeding hair line in your last video.

Do you still like the SHP better or has the SC grown on you know with more flights?

I've been watching a different thread where the SC has been discussed much lately.

Honestly, I still don't understand some of the people and how emotional they get about this stuff.

However, I think it's worth pointing out that a 57" long plane and 51" long plane are not really in the same size class. The 57" SC is designed as a balanced performance aircraft...it's not an AJ Slick with a huge wing, for example. We could have done that (and, BTW, an AJ Slick with a huge wing is a really fun plane, and a cool testbed, I can tell you) but that's not what 3DHS is after with this project.

On the 57", as well as the 72", 103" and forthcoming 119" Extra SC, we want everything: No rock harrier, excellent snaps, tons of KE authority, no roll coupling and minimal pitch coupling...in short, everything that makes an aerobatic plane great.

To get this, we made it exactly as long, as wide, and as high as Scott designed it to be. Anyone who has flown one knows that he nailed it. We also used servos that are more than strong enough, with plenty of excess torque, and didn't go with a lighter servo to save a few grams because in our experience in this size class, the 225/5245 provides enough torque to be very precise and this is what we're after.

Also, I think I should note that we have worked to give the SC the highest possible roll rate. In some other threads, some people have advanced the idea that roll rate, and harrier roll rate, is a sign of high-performance, with slower being better. I'm not sure that this makes any sense...since we can turn our rates down whenever we want.

I have no interest in dissing anyone else's aircraft. I will however, respond in threads about our aircraft when they are being discussed...and there are some odd ideas going around at the moment.

OK, back to regular programming.
