Shhhhhhh! Not so loud...

It's Ben's reward to his faithful minions. Check out the Addicts' Support Group thread.

Now I've gone and said too much.

I think the cheap ESC's are to blame. Make sure you have updated firmware on the receiver as "Quick Connect" pretty much solves the problem. It turns a brownout into a quick hiccup rather than 5-8 seconds of helpless spectation. They also have that little capacitor stuck to a servo lead that you can plug into an empty channel. I've tried my darnedest to find a pic of that thing that reveals the specs on the cap but I've been unsuccessful so far.

Every other pic I've seen has the thing twisted so you couldn't read it. Now that there is a little $0.20 insurance policy.

I'm not knocking on any brand. The signal hopping is what sold me. I fly out of my backyard on a 40acre lot. Across the street is a housing subdivision where there are 5+ 2.4ghz access points I can pick up on my Iphone. And that's not including any bluetooth, 2.4ghz phones, wireless mouse and gadgets that may be within range. I'll find out if it works for my application.

There are so many variables on my setup that could go wrong. I'm not blaming Spektrum. It's a learning process. Sometimes you can get away running cheap, and sometimes you pay for it.

On my last lock out, I was running the AR6200, Reaper 85amp ESC, GR45, 4S 20C 2200. Seriously, what was I thinking. I was running 4S 20C 2200mah battery on a 60+ amp draw motor. Voltage sag? Now I make sure my planes gets a CC BEC 10amp and enough juice to feed it.

Now that capacity trick is new. Thanks.

Probably an obvious answer - just wanted to make sure.
Thanks again!
