Ohhhh Bouy !!!!

some quick reading ..and some note's ..I glassed the old girl ..

It got real sticky ..i ended up using my hands ( with rubber glove's) to move the Resin around ..and Kmot was right in one of his post..a healthy ..not so much generous helping of resin keeps everything from moving ..

Now only to hope it set's up ..

If you get the chance trim the excess off just as the stuff is setting to the cosistancy of butter with a sharp tool. Makes clean up of the hull easier.

your build looks good...makes me want to glass my foss hull
did the cloth need a lot of releif cuts to lay down?

3 drops hardner / 1 ounce of resin . didnt go for the acetone

relief cuts...No not really ..

I laid it on dry, cut a slot for the keel ,took a triangular piece out for the bow ,and slit the stern in the middle..

after i wetted the hull .. i laid on the cloth..and carried on ..kept a razor knife handy to adjust the cuts ...and finaly the whole keel was cut fore to aft when everything was wet and tacky because it bowed up over the keel

I would put it on top of the furnace ...but that would leave me and Shelly to end up sleeping in the shed ..

But it well set up ? ....Right?

A gental flash of the heat gun to move things along ??

Eventually... yes..

I wouldn't go anywhere near it with something that is a source of ignition, not with resin fumes..

i'v also been doing about 6 drops of resin a few weeks abo in about 85-90 degrees
and it set up in about 1 hour
put the hull in the sun to dry it may take a while
i'v also noticed the thicker the resin the quicker it cures...i belive you get more heat build up?

Put the boat in a cardboard box, poke a hole in it and push a hair dryer into the box. Turn the hair dryer on a low setting and let bake for several hours.
