This is woodybob's excuse to get a cnc attachment for his milling machine. then he can make a couple dozen identical machined stainless steel grates.

Need some opinions
Ok...
So after much gnashing of teeth and many failed attempt's (in wood, in ply, in brass) I've come up with this method of making the grating's.. Brass strip, drilled and brass rod soldered in to the strip. The top end of the rods are let in to the bulwark's. Once the brass strip and the top end's of the rod's are epoxied in to the hull, I'm planning on fairing in the bottom of the bulwarks to match the grating... Any comments?.. |

This is the jig i have had to make to hold the pin's while they are soldered.. and the drilled brass strip...
.. and the second one is in.. only 4 more to go.. |

Well through some paint on that puppy and get it the water  I know, you need electronics, cabin, E.T.C. And a little more time,Your doing a great job there. As if you didn't have enough to do, are you putting on a working monitor, or did I miss that in a earlier post? |
