Do you have pics of dual swash? How did you do this mod?

There are several threads about dual swash mods here on RCG (dendog220, EQMOD, thesteelcube ... )

... search and you shall find

But here is a good starting point Razor:

Why am I not doing it?? How should someone who doesnt even manage to make a Lama4 BL fly with a so-called plug and play kit (wowhobbies) manage to do all the tinkering and handywork necessary for that? If you find out, please let me know ...

You know Razor,

it is much more likely that I will just by a Kestrel 500SX once I really am of the opinion I am at least decent at flying my lama than that I will ever try to DIY one of these awesome double swash mods ... ( )

Sad thing that walkera brings one sub micro fp after the other (the same as eflite did bring a sub-micro ... ) what about the people who want a little more fp than 20cm rotor, but don't have the space to fly the 50+ cm (of an HBFP) ???

I don't get it - is anybody listening to the customer?? the kestrel SX500 is the only fp I know that has a reasonable size (that would [still] also work inside!)

Sven

Size does not matter. We should design helis than cut through wind and not just overcome it or punch through it with bigger motors and rotors.

Factors include;

- Body/chassis aerodynamics: the lesser the heli surface for the wind to vane on, the more 'wind' controllable the heli would be. Even if the heli is very small;

Walkera 4#3B: Extreme wind fight (1 min 48 sec)

- More volume in cyclic induced rotor wash: Dual swash coaxials does this with twice the cyclic push power

The small Coaxial Rc Helicopter WIND FIGHT! (1 min 58 sec)

- Fix that flybar: Balance it in such a way that (1) Less wind drag, (2) More authority for stability, (3) Less authority on counteracting true pilot cyclics. Sometimes that flybar would create an upper rotor cyclic inline with the wind and against the cyclic of the lower rotors.

Razor, I hear ya! Why the frig don't they make dual swash kits? Why don't they make single rotor kits? People are doing both but I'm not ready for this amount of 'tweaking'. A drop in kit would ROCK MY WORLD!!!!!

So I tried my other charger with my big lama lipos. I just tried a fresh one and no problems.

I was charging them from my E-flite chargers which have an output of .65A

Now I've used my other chargers, they both charge at .8A and the first lipo is fine, the heli went right up. I brougth it down, watched some 'office' and then tired it again, no problems. Will try the second when it's ready.

I didn't think the charger would be the problem, is this what it was?

Note: I cut those 'things' off of the motors and it flies the same.....I believe they will stop the potential threat of a mid flight motor shut down.

Hey that was a great flight until the very end but that sort of thing happens. Should we ask why there were no landing skids on that bird?

I would be glad to share what little I know about the 500 SX with you when you are ready for that purchase. I really like that bird. I like the Free Spirit pod-and-boom version as well.

Thanks; I broke them off a few days before this. I think they broke because I painted them - perhaps the paint didn't react well with the plastic.
