He insisted -- defying the class warriors -- on tax cuts not only for low-income workers but also "for those in the middle and upper brackets, who can thereby be encouraged to undertake additional efforts and ... invest more capital."

I can only remember the day Reagan was shot. But I also remember some kook who shot at the Whitehouse during the 90s and another who crashed his plane into it.

This is a perfect example of what I've been saying for more than a decade; that the Democrat party of the 50's and early 60's is no more, and has been replaced by some bastardised version of radical Statism.

JFK's policies have little in common with the Leftists that run the Democrat party today, and that's the shame.

I was sitting on a stool at the bar out side my grand mothers bed room a the camp when Kennedy was shot.

All hell broke loose shortly after as the surrounding camp were where the rest of the Democrat political party in Louisiana partied.

Lots of screaming cussing and drinking.

I was 7 or 8 so it was kind of scary.
Might be why I remember it almost like watching a movie.

Johnson was the downfall of the Democratic Party. Terrible president. Completely broke the trust of our nation. It didn't help that he was probably in on it (JFKs doom).

I was raised by these people--on weekends and during most summers.

Was taught to drive an Opel Kadet 4speed and sort of turned loose with it at age 9. The private roads ran here there and yonder through the area.

Me and my brother were watching it on tv in the office.
I saw the smoke trail of the SRBs and thought the managed to turn it around.
Brother said no their dead.
Almost had a fist fight over that.
Years later at a race was talking to the head engineer for the ISS heat dissipation system(he raced a miata) and he told me that the crew had survived the explosion and some or one had made it to and opened the equipment lockers?
Apparently death came on impact with the ocean.(this is not the public story)

Woke up early that Saturday and thought I had dreamed(heard) of an explosion. Couldn't remember any dreams.
Turned on tv later and then realized what I had heard.
Could hear like a light rain for awhile later that day, mostly in the swamps behind the house. The sky was clear.
Later calculated its path from debris field and its heading put its path about a mile west from the house.
