Dust Bowl 2 September 10th,11th and 12th 2010!

Dust Bowl Fly in 2009!

October 24th and 25th 2009 Holdenville Oklahoma Airport
There will be a lot to do including but not limited to:

* Combat
* Spot Landing
* All Up Last Down

*Taxi Contest

There will also be BBQ ( drool!) A bake sale,Soft drinks and water available.
There will be items for sale or trade supplied by the attendees.
Prizes will be awarded for the events. And there will be raffles and drawings and a 50/50 drawing. With the proceeds to be donated to MS research to help find a cure!

We will post a schedule as it is finalized. There will be free time available for open flying too.
We will have a sim running for those who have never flown to try there hand. And also models with a buddy box to try your luck in the air!

We will have a complete ready to fly electric trainer to give away. This will be done by raffle on the last day of the event.

More details will be posted as they are worked out!

I was wondering if people would be interested in attending a flyin here in Oklahoma.
It does not have to be parkflyers only. Heck it does not have to be just electric!
I and several friends fly at a local airport. There is a taxi way there and a 3,250 foot long runnway.
The lobby has a/c and 2 restrooms and the airport sees verry little use and is rc friendly.

I was thinking this fall it would be fun to get some rcgroups members here for some flying.
So.... Anyone interested?

You might be able to generate some interest in that. Is the airport at Holdenville? I made a few touch and goes there back when I was actively flying full scale aircraft.

Yup it sure is. So little full scale activity and so much room it a good place for something like this.
Makes a great place to fly for me that is for sure. And only a few minutes away.

I would show up as long as it's not on the 19th of this month, that is when we are having a fly in at the Bald Eagle club in Keifer.

I think I can possibly get a couple of Vintage full size airplanes to show up.
I am thinking around the 3rd week of October for this.

Anyone that has a full size plane is welcome to fly in for this too of course!

I'm interested. I only have one parkflyer, but it's got it ample power for aerobatics except for it's only 3 channel. You can hover it though if you're good. I can only do it on Fridays and Sundays though.

Some pictures of the airport. More to come. But you can see there is plenty of room
Lots of grass area if you want to belly land your plane on grass.

Also room for High starts if you want to bring sailplanes.
There is good thermal activity.

There are four of us from Altus AFB that would attend. We fly jets and there is just not much interest around these parts.

I'm all park flyers, I fly a lot of streamer combat and will have 2 going if anyone wants to try it. I could possibly get some of the guys to come down that fly combat with me. The more planes you have the more exciting it is.

That's a really nice field you have there. I hope you guys can get enough interest to have good fun fly. You never know, in a few years it could become as popular as NEAT or SEFF.

It would be good for the area if it would ever get big enough. There are several places to eat in Holdenville. One is an old style diner. Not at all fancy but good food and good prices. And only a couple of minutes from the airport.

There are some motels in the area too if someone wants to make a longer stay. Also a nice park with a good size lake and camping.
