Saito 100 Fuel consumption

This Saito 100 is my first 4-stroke.
Runs fine on a Kangke Sports-Cap - 14X8 APC - 2.500 to 9.000 rpm - 10%
nitro - valves set with minimal clearance.
After some 4 Gallons and leaning out, the 320 cc tank is emptied in only 7
minutes.

Is this normal ?

Re: Saito 100 Fuel consumption

Sounds like a fuel-hog to me. Just to be sure: Have you re-adjusted the
valves also AFTER you have run the 4 gallons through it ? If not, that
*might* be your problem. And what do you mean with 'minimal clearance' ? You
defnitely need the right tools to adjust the valves, feeling/seeing will not
do.

I assume you bought it new and breaking in was according the manual.

good luck.
jas.

Re: Saito 100 Fuel consumption

My Saito .91 will run for maybe 13 minutes at half throttle, but only
8 minutes at full throttle on an 11 ounce tank.

The Saito 100's I have seen consume noticably more fuel than the .91's

320cc is about 10.8 ounces

Re: Saito 100 Fuel consumption

My Saito 150 was a real fuel hog also. Since I had run four or five gallons
through it, I thought I was saddled with it. I installed a 16 oz tank so I
could get a ten minute flight, and after the ten minute timer on the
transmitter went off, I best be heading for the field. One day, I noticed
that after ten minutes, I still had a bunch of fuel left. On further
investigation, I found that for absolutely no reason, the engine decided to
consume less fuel. The "in the know" Saito guys tell me that it is now
really broken in. Your 100 should get better.
Good Luck
Bill
