I don't know if this would help or not, but they do have the fanwing model made for X-Plane. Is there a way to use that model and import into the RCDP editor?

Ken Willard's Drake II seaplane

Here's another one I've built and now massaged into the sim.

When I built it I of course(?) put in a brushless motor instead of a nitro engine, instead of round wing tips extended the tips to one more full bay with a tip rib, reduced the dihedral and put in ailerons, and flaps as well. The flaps aren't needed for the extra lift but the drag can be useful.

It's so close again that I can't really put my finger on the slight differences between the real model and the one in the sim.

Delightful Drake

What fun!! Nice tribute to Ken Willard. Now, if only we had a pond to play in.
BTW, it'd be nice if the available controls for all aircraft were listed in the description

interface option?

Does anyone know (or perhaps I overlooked this as I read through the thread) if you can use this adapter for RC Deskpilot with a DX6i? Thanks in advance!

The RCDP Logo Plane

I wanted to try something different and utilize some 3D graphic effects of illuminating a model. The RCDP logo was a perfect opportunity and with Davy's permission I created a glowing neon tube structure to resemble the logo.

Being purely a novelty plane, I created a motor sound to suit it's cartoon like appearance.

This one's for you Davy, with many thanks for all the time and effort you have shared with us. RCDP just keeps getting better!

Back at you and all the plane builders! I'm really glad I came to RCGroups. I'm trying to build a good sim, but it's you boys (& girls?) that make it great!

Enough emotional talk, back to simbuilding!

Bowerz, I couldn't find much about the error. Google suggested running "as administrator", that is right-clicking on the executable and selecting "run as administrator", although I have not heard of any access rights problems in the last versions. The most common cause for the sim failing to run is that the correct DirectX version is not installed. The installer will ask to install it, but maybe you accidentally clicked the cancel button. Anyway, you can install it by running the installer again or by only installing the correct DirectX from this link.

Franky, that looks awesome! Looks like a crossing between a GeeBee and a Hughes H-1 Racer.

Well I couldn't get FMS to run very well on my Computer and Windows 7 so I down loaded this. All I can say is WOW!!!! So easy to use and so much better. Love it, now I actually think I can learn to fly the planes I got.

A shameless plug and a question

First, the plug. The 6 channel controller from Tom's Rc (sim.tomsrc.com ) is a perfect match for R/C Desk Pilot. Really enjoy the Radian Pro.

Sencond, the question - is there a wishlist for R/C Desk Pilot? If there is, I'd like to add:
  • Ability to hold model steady and view control functions.
  • Ability to save control function settings for a particular model.

Looks good Franky, just one thing though. At the end of your video you put visit rcgroup.com. It's missing an s. rcgroups.com. Not sure if it's worth the trouble editing and re-uploading for that.

Muj you are right !!!

I didn't notice that. The s is missing in all my video clips.
I don't think I'm going to correct it.
