ggunners,

Are you sure there's a gyro in there?

Yosef, I talked to Quique at SEFF after flying the model and knew that it wasn't a full AS3X module (3 gyros in ParkZone micros). He said roll gyro only and the rest was mixing. So, I have not taken it apart, but I took his word for it. The new MEMS gyros are about the size of a grain of rice.

If you go up real high and start a dive, you can't get the Stratos to roll. Quique told me it was stopped by the control unit. If you turn off the "Instructor" you shoulld be able to roll it. I have not tested that yet but the time is coming for some flight tests without the instructor.

Quique said everything but motor differential is turned off when you turn off the instructor.

If you like, feel free to rip yours apart and verify it for me.

Don't need to.

All the electronics are easily seen once the wing is off.

I have no clue what to look for. If you take the wing off sometime, and you want, see if there's anything soldered on its little printed circuit board that looks like a gyro-like (or ring-laser-like) device to you.

Thanks!!!

There might be some electronics on the bottom side of the board too. And if I were creating the board, I'd probably hide the important bits under some black stuff. These days you need a microscope to find out what's on the board.

That said, I believe the stabilizing "gyro" only works with motor differential while the mixing happens in the transmitter. So turning the instructor off, turns off the mixes but leaves the stabilizing differential thrust. In your movie, you were rolling the airplane slowly, perhaps a quicker roll would make a difference.

Hi, i just made this L-39 in metasequioa it's kind of bad since it is my first attempt. I was just wondering if anyone could either,
1) download it from here, put it into the aircraft editor, fix it and put it back here.
And/ OR
2) tell me how to fix it- these are the problems: I can't work out how to make it roll axial, it rolls around the wing tip, and also it sinks into the ground. I've got one or two collision points but I don't know how to position them.

l-39
many thanks in advance if anyone answers

Right click on "whole center" or whatever the name of your object is and then click "add child item."

I dip the left wing and quickly right it and the right motor briefly comes on. That happens consistently. Dipping the right wing then quickly righting it causes neither motor to come on. When I dip the left wing, shouldn't the left motor come on?

It looks like it should work, Dave. The picture actually shows a mono jack too. If that's what it has, that's better for JR radios than the one I have, which looks similar but has a stereo jack (I've never dared try it with my DSX11 but I've used it with other radios - an old FF7 and an old Parkzone RTF Tx).

Hi,
After having calibrated the radio (joystick) can not I use the rudder and flaps together.
When during the calibration check the "use ailerons channel ..." should not be the rudder and flaps work, if not checked operate the rudder but not flaps!

what is wrong?
