Well, Operation Monkey failed. That's not even close to the end of this, though- I've managed to figure out that the battery's 12AWG leads are what's holding it up there. The ESC is acting as a counterweight draped over the thin branch with the silicone wire casing gripping the branch. A shotgun slug could have it down in less than a second

Well, where there's a will there's a chainsaw.... Er, a way.....

I've also calculated that, based on Tim's 0.07A ESC-current draw rate, I have over 650 days before my lipo is toast. Let's hope for another tornado....

Aj, bummer that you weren't able to fly the red plane. You really need to take wifey with you so she can see it fly.

OK, so my weekend so far has proved to be a waste, with my back hurting yesterday I got nothing done until late. After the pain meds kicked in & the heating pad did its thing, I did some work on the replacement Screamer. Have the elevator mounted & hinged, & the vertical stab mounted. Test fitted the rudder, but that's been about it. Didn't do much of anything today, couldn't get motivated to do anything. Afraid to go anywhere in case my back went wonky again since it felt stiff this morning when I got out of bed.

So, I guess I'll go back to working on Screamer#2 since Liz is workin & the kid is in bed.

Hi all. I had a pretty descent fly morning. Until my second to the last flight. I was hovering with a low battery and got caught in a gusty updraft with my 42" SU-26 profile. (see picture)

Other than that. I had 3 packs worth of combat with the pico stick before my tail got chewed to shreds. It should be an easy fix to get it back in action. I had already field repaired it twice, so I put it away after the last incident. Also flew the F-117, my Pitts, Pigi3d, Mugi and the Tumble Weed. Got a few flight on each. I also brought the 2M Vista but forgot to pack the fuse. I flew from 8 -12 am then had to wait for the church parking lot to empty before I could retrieve the SU-26. Went home and got the football. I hit it on the 4th shot. It fell on the asphalt lot and shattered every where. Ended up pulling off all the tronics and tossing the foam in the garbage.

Sray, that Sux, at least you have better luck with retrieval than TP and Fern

Thought it pains me to do it the 130% Shumate T38 is going under the knife, I made the mistake of zip-tying the motor/esc harness before I glued the fuse together, no access, time to break out a new Xacto #11 and the surgical gloves...

Yep - All fan fold and a wee bit of carbon, I added the rudder, it wasn't on the plans. It wouldn't climb out on maiden, only 250W/3S 1350Kv and a 6x4 prop. Going up to 350W/2900Kv w/ the same batt/prop combo (until my new bat's get here,Hobby City EMS express, just hit the order button, 4s baby!), still don't think it going to be as fast as I had hoped and the wing loading is way high, not sure exactly how much, guess I should find a formula somewhere.

Note to self - Easy on the PayPal button there buddy, that was Wifey's credit card
