TP,

I thought the same thing about the wire they use for the signs, but I think it is too loose, so I am going for the big bucks and buying 5/32" rods.

Today I spent doing some awesome slope flying at the famous Lump on the Blue Ridge Pkwy. I took some video, so when I get it together, I will post the link.

Starting to get real busy here, as we are still partying hard and getting ready to leave for HOT Florida.

Sure going to miss this beautiful part of our country.

Tim, you have more motor than I did, but that may be a good thing. My problem with the plane was that I did not like the control responses. Enjoy the plane. And remember the Badius Owners Club, and what our goals are.

Tim you will love that Quick-1. If I am scared to fly *anything* due to wind I always know I can fly that plane. It is not as fast as you would expect but it will do what you want - even if it flaps the wings a bit at high speeds - or in the wind. Fun plane.

Scott, that is interesting. I found the plane to be less than optimal. Tim Has more power on so that should fix it

I have a MSC Swift 2.5 and the Mustang. Completely different planes. I mean zero comparison.

Don't feel bad about the empty box, the year of the first fly in I think it was Ken who shipped someone a plane, but forgot to put it in the box, shipping a large empty box cross country.

TP14,
Aol can be had for free now, so no worry on hours.

Fern,
Had our club meeting last nite at the LHS. Got to see the P-51, and was going to fly it in the back room, but it was getting to closing time there. Maybe next time..
These micros just keep getting better and better.....

Ok, well, puter project is moving right along... I took a few various parts and strung them together on my bedroom floor. I have a fully functional computer that's not in a case. I have to figure out how I'm gonna keeep it safe but it does work. I plugged my brother's monitor, keyboard, and mouse into it and it actually functioned like a normal computer...... even though it was in the middle of an autopsy. Work will continue shortly.......

I might go pick up some building materials and toss together a new Weasel today. I thought of a new stiffening method for the wing: Gluing flat CF spars along the LE and TE of the wing in addition to the CF rod or tube that I usually glue on the underside of the wing. Might work out, might not. Seems like it would help with any curves the foam has.

I should be looking at a flying weight of about 13oz. That would be my lightest wing yet.

Wheelnut, go easy on the throttle with the Texan at first. The brushless is like 11 times as powerful as the original setup

I feel jealous of all the people with super-tiny planes (P-51s, Sukhoi's, etc.). I'm gonna build my own! It certainly won't be quite THAT small, though....

Tim, for general all around flying I thing the swift2 or even the mini swift will fare better than the Mustang. They fly completely different though. The wing will handle wind better for sure.

Slope Soaring the Lump

Hey guys,

A little footage flying the Lump with a new carbon fiber sailplane. My new 100" sailplane did well also, but no footage.

The Lump (8 min 20 sec)
