Thats a bummer. Wonder if the manufacturer has some insight that would help...

It must be doable I think. If the pen can be switched off, so can the keychain. Just need the exact code to use I reckon.

Keep the thread posted if you happen to figure it out. I havent picked one up yet, but probably soon...no time stamp would be nice!

I see HobbyKing might release an affordable video cam: 640x480 @32FPS. It just seems to be a bit heavy...

...and if you want face forward recording - it's a big draggy block.

The true 32fps is great though. This keychain frame rate has a lot to be desired... very steppy when moving fast.

I tried several more attempts at removing the time stamp including upgrading the firmware ( DO NOT DO THAT)....

It's definitely in the userconfig data - just have to work out exactly how to tell it to turn off.

I tried variations of Show Time:N
Before, after, first line, second line etc. like Display Time:N etc...

No luck so far...

I had already tried that and have now tried again. My camera may be different from yours? Bought on eBay for Oz$25 incl free postage. My date format comes as 2008/11/04

ie forward slashes as separator when embedded in the video. Ive also tried this option:

with no luck

Did you format the cam first?

I know it's probably a bit late to say this now, but I got a real great deal getting one of the "gum spy cameras", the long rectangular one. I bought it on ebay like everyone else, where it said it was 30fps and 640x480 res. I got it for $.01 AUD but the postage was $15, still not bad considering they were $60 a month ago. But this one didn't come with internal storage, so I got 4gb card as well. Since it was so cheap I thought it must have been the 15fps one, but no! it really is true 30fps, 640x480 for $.01!

It works a treat, can't wait to put it on the cheap glider and get some aerial shots

No How do you format the cam? I dont have a card reader so can it be done just by plugging the cam with card into my XP Pro PC?

edit: Ive got a laptop with a SD-SC slot so could I use that?
