Thanks for posting CT2. It's definitely a static cam only.
Dennis - good results for inflight vid that KnObby posted.

My keychain one on the way and I'll be happy if my vid turns out the same.

Well I just got mine, Plug into my pc now charging the battery.
The manual is a joke. Really can't understand it, I'll have to play around with it to get it to work.

Well after an hour of playing with it, I got it to work.
two problem so far WITH MINE, Maybe someone else will not.
The first one is really not a problem, But setting day, time, and year, Mine show the year 1980! etc. Lol.....
The 2nd one, With cam laing flat. Photo and video are facing to the left. Later I'll open up the case and see what I can do.

Well don't bother to open the case up, The cam is solder to the PC broad.
I took the cam for a test drive, I drove around for about 35 min. The video was not bad at all, walk in to a store with it still on, video inside store was not very good. lighting?
But outside in the sun was good.
Maybe this weekend I'll take it flying.

I got my keychain cam in today. What an ordeal......

First thing was to record some video and check out the quality. The brightness was fine but it was out of focus. I opened up the case and trial and error resulted in 1/4 turn clockwise for the clearest image.

Sweet.... Ooooops! .... a part fell off the board....!

Nope - it won't work without it - soldered it back on once I located the place where it belonged.

Great! Now to change the time stamp....

You lucky little campers get a free ride on this one. Two hours it took me to trial and error all manner of things to get it to change.

This is it and I know it seems simple... now..

Create a text file called userconfig.txt

Enter the date and time like this: 2009-09-14 19:50:00 (24 hour time) and save it in the root directory of the cam.

Unplug the cam. Switch it on, record something and then plug it back into the PC. The correct date stamp is now there (you'll see the video file has the right date and time in the file name). The txt file will have disappeared from the root directory now meaning the date update was successful, so don't panic.

This unit is definitely light enough stripped down for Indoors Micro Cam! Most of the weight is the 260mah lipo in there and the casing. By freeloading the models power, you'd eliminate the need for it. The cam is held in place with hot glue blobs. You could streamline things by removing it and just having the cam lens peeping out of the model. I think by using some of that thin heatshrink would be fine for insulating it.

Correct Date and Time now showing on video.

Hello NC!
How good is KeyChain compared to Pen? Is it lighter without case and battery?
Thanks,
Kostya

If it wont let you do the new time stamp, format the cam and retry.

The Pen sucks Salat. This key chain cam is good for the price (20 bucks off of ebay delivered).

I'll see how long I can record for Dennis.

I got 12mins of recording....

I'm cycling the lipo at the moment as it was way down when I measured it this morning while seeing why the cam had such a short record time..

I right click on the removable drive icon and select format from the list. Then I just click 'start'.

The lipo seems pretty saggy. My guess is it's been on the shelf too long. If I can't cycle it back up, I'll replace it with a 210 I have here. I've soldered on a micro jst lead so I can use my flightmax 138mah for testing record time and make it easier to cycle the lipo.

Lipo is the problem. Even after cycling, I could only get ~89mah into it each time. I replaced it.
