What ever came with the motor. It came with the connectors for the esc too.

I have run the standard cc bec in my 55" Extra for two years with no issues.

I have been running the A123 rxr packs in the 87" Extra for 130 flights with no problems.

Any input would be welcome. Thanks
Running a BEC in mine without issues and will be useing one in the 89 slick too. I have yet to have a UBEC fail on me (knock on wood)

If your worried about a BEC failure, use one of these:

I've used them in every electric plane I've ever owned. As close to bullet proof as it gets!!

jedoug - At 5400 my reccommendation would be:

Hacker A50-12L motor
APC 18x8 prop
8S 4000mah lipo
Castle HV85 ESC

Proven trouble-free powerful setup for high altitude.

Thank you. I was looking at going with that motor but wasn't sure if I could do a 8s set up on it or not.

Probably 4mm then. I have yet to see anything larger than 4mm come on a motor or ESC.

Two things I always do when using bullet connectors is to spray some Caig "De-oxit" (contact cleaner) into the connector before putting them together, I also slide some heat shrink over the connectors before putting them together then once plugged in, I slide the heat shrink on and shrink it down so that the bullet connectors can not come apart.

So for the motor and esc wires is it best for them to be soldered together?

Sorry bro.I tested thos with big prop on that motor and didnt have any trouble with it.I did solder the wires after the test was over but I'm anal and superstitious lol...I also was not running 8s either tho.Terminals can get loose, corroded, etc. The ones i got with my test motor were of very good quality.I'm assuming they are the same type you got too.Sorry one got loose on ya.

I didnt have an issues with the ones on the SC. Though I double and triple checked those and heat shrank them together. I did heat shrink the ones on the 71 together too but it apparently was a little loose in the connector causeing arcking which caused it to burn up. I didnt really check those to see how tight there were so its my fault. If I would have double check and seen if one was loose I could have spread the pins a little to make it tight but I didnt (see what happen when you are in a rush ) I soldered these but if I do this again I will make darn sure they mate tightly next time
