There is no appreciable difference just slightly different post stall characteristics. Dont worry about it just enjoy the extra power from 8s

I love my 8S Slick and by using 2 4S 4000 Hyperion 25C packs, I'm not that much heavier than a 6S 5000 setup. The Hyperion are light packs.

I saw quite a bit of difference with my 68 Velox on 6s 3000 compared to 6s 5000. The 3000 really made it lighter and pulled out of a hover quite a bit quicker. You can ask everyone who was at TEFF about my light Velox hucking

At 9.2 lbs, the Slick flies really good. I mean it.

8s-3300 Slick would be the best for 8s setup (9.5 lbs), but I already invested too much in 2s + 4s +6s-3800 25c, and 2s+4s-4000 30c packs.

Will see, maybe I'll get another Slick with an 8s power system. I got room in my room

It is really annoying that batteries from Hobbypartz weigh 1-2 oz heavier than their listed spec.

You're right, but there's a half pound difference between 8s-4000 (8s setup on my SC) and 6s-4000 (I am flying at), and that is noticeable.

SC (9.8lbs) vs. Slick (9.2 lbs). 2s-4000 + 2oz extra motor weight = the difference in weight.

My 2 airframes weigh almost the same. The Slick has heavier wings (34 oz vs. 30oz), whereas the SC has heavier fuse (99 oz vs. 92 oz)

How would you get any more than 3-4 minutes of flight time out of 3300mah? Or are you only getting 4 mins?

the key thing is that it would be an 8s setup, instead of a 6s setup. so basically you can remember the age old watts = amps x volts

for the same watts, a higher voltage means less amperage. so really you are pulling a lot less amps with the extra 2 cells in the setup, therefore using the 3300 mah more slowly, which should give you about the same flight times (i think it was decided that 8s3300 is roughly equal to 6s5000 in flight time, i may be wrong on that one)

I was figuring about 70 amps on 8S. I believe that would still be shorter flight times than a 6S 5000mah.

If I had a "charge station" I could see the benefit, but I have one 150w Charger that charges one pack at a time. So...... I will go with one 6S pack

6s-4000, I got about 5-6 min of flight time (with A50-16s). I was gentle with the throttle on the maiden flight. After 4 mins, I only use 40% of the pack.

8s-3300, about the same flight time with the A50-14L. IMO

I believe 8s-3300 is about 6s-4400, and 6s-5000 is about 8s-3750

If I did it again, I'd spend my lipo money on 4s-3300 25c-30c packs.
8s setup for Slick 70" and SC 72, and ultra light setup for SC 57". But too late.

Now I have
3s-3000/4400-20c vs. 4s-2200 25c for Slick 51"
4s-3800/4000-30c vs. 6s-2200 25c for Slick 59" / SC 57"
6s-3800/4000-30c for Slick 70"
8s-3800/4000-30c for SC 72"

Seem to be a mess.

i knew it was something around there...im no 8s expert....6s is too perfect

I'm a 6s guy myself...

But I recently saw that HK is selling single 8s packs...I have plenty of 18x10 props so I'm considering snagging an 8s for my 72SC.
