Thanks,

Looks alot like the damage to mine. Gives me hope that I can repair it. Now if Rob has the kit in stock, I should be good to go.

Bob

Well today I put the slick in from about 5' wing tip first, it hit fairly hard. I walked up no apparent damage, look inside just a couple of cracked formers. I can't believe how tough this plane is many others would of had the wing through the side of the fuse. It has quickly become my favorite, but I wish they sold them in pairs its WAY to easy to get stupid with it.

Mine is about in the same condition. Just waiting one some parts and then I'll be putting it back together.

I must confess I did remove the stock ring and install a Bowman ring instead no burbling like my buddies DLE 30 know I will have to adjust it as she breaks in will post some pictures of my setup later.

There was a mishap with another 70 Slick at the field Bob lost power with his electric and busted the landing gear out hated to see that because it used to be my Slick.
Bad break on Bob's Slick yesterday (Used to be my Slick too). Looks really fixable though.

Flew my Slick yesterday several more time I guess I have about 20 flights on her. anyway on my last landing, right at touch down I seen a big puff of dirt come up, guess I hit a ant mound I noticed it tore one of the wheel pants no biggie, when I get it home and start looking at I noticed it cracked the landing gear mount, easily fixable. Do you guys do the gorilla glue thing in the landing gear area, I didn't do it, I'm thinking I might ought to.

On that note are there any other areas on the 70" that you guys who have been flying it for a while think needs to be beefed up for hard flying?

I also had one of my canopy dowels fall out I replaced it with a piece of carbon fiber.

Canopy dowels fell out of my 70" slick and my 103" Extra.

Both of the ones in my Extra fell out and I didn't even notice it till after at least several flights. Good thing the cowl overlaps the canopy on the Extra.

I didn't have any dowels but I had a new dremel tool and a 1/2" hardwood stick so I shaped some with a sanding wheel. I think it worked out pretty well because it left a flange on the back side of the "dowel"
