Finally got my 70" Slick in the air tonight! One click of aileron & elevator trim is the trimming that was required, it flew great! Maiden was pretty uneventful, but managed to get down kind of low and hover a little bit. I will post some video in the next 2-3 days...need to get it from the videographer!

Second Flight was was going great, getting down low; the Slick harriers great! Then I got a little over confident and stalled the Slick in a harrier, the wheel pants caught the grass and BAM! pulled the gear right out!

Damage is to formers 1-3, but the motor box is fine and the stringers are intact

Hopefully it is an easy fix!

Brian, sorry to see this!!! You were starting to get comfortable, and getting wild with it.

Don't worry.. I've fixed mine from worse... You'll have it back in the air in no time!!

Tyler is already working on the parts for me...love that 3DHS customer service!

After I peeled the covering back and could take a good look at the damage, I got kind of lucky, the stringers are intact! Now to buy the Acetone and start de-bonding!

I really loved the way the Slick flew...for the short 10 minutes I got to fly it tonight! My 57" SC has to watch out...I might have a new favorite plane!

I like that review... I might be going that route with my 72SC so its good to hear that it works out pretty well. I already use 5S 3000's on my 55" shp so batteries are already provided for. Makes it an easy switch.

I like it enough that I am going to convert my second 70" Slick to 10S when I get enough money together to buy a second ICE HV 80.


I plan to play with other props too and see what happens. I plan to play with a APC-E 20x8 and a XOAR 20x10. I probably will not try an APC-E 20x10 because that pulls a lot more watts but I figure why not with the XOAR.


I ordered a Hacker A50-14L for my 72" Extra just for grins. I have a bunch of both 4S and 5S packs.

Oh... right. HV controllers. Well that does put a bit of a crimp in my style, forgot about that little requirement of 10S.

I'm flying (2) TP 3900 prolite 4S batteries that weigh 725g which is lighter than most people using 6s hobby city batteries. My current draw is much less and the performance is excellent. Also, these batteries work in other planes which is nice.

Please post pictures of the repair as you go. I really want to see how you get it together since I've never really repaired anything that broke and I'm really curious about how you debond stuff.

I should start removing the motorbox and broken formers tonight. Just bought a quart of Acetone! Had to sign a statement saying I wouldn't make meth with it!
