Nice job Robert. I enjoyed your most informative thread. I too am running a total Turnigy equipped 70'' Slick although mine is all of 10 pounds with a 5000mah 6 cell. Plane is awesome and flies much like my 87'' Extra that had all the expensive stuff on it!

Thought y'all would get a kick outta some 'real redneck' engineering I did on Eddi's Slick The rim acts as a stop on the interior wall. Just CA and kick it off. Oh, had to hand drill at a bit of an angel to fit the brass.

Congrats on your Slick fellas!

3DD, post some pics of the belly, and we'll be more than happy to guide you through the repair process. It's really not that hard once you've done this a couple of times.

Well , that's good to hear you can get her all fixed up again and flying. I have started flying my 89" Slick again a couple weeks ago after my bad wreck i had in October...WOOHOO!! Damn , I love that bird. I have everything i need for this little 70" Slick now , i just have to find the time to start putting it together , but it sounds like it's going to be a fun little plane to fly.

Hey guys, This is my first post and I need a little help setting up
a power system for a DLE 30. I seem to be a bit confused about switches,
batteries and a kill switch. I was thinking about running a 2300mah a123
battery and the Wike battery eliminator for the ignition to keep it simple but
I am not sure what kind of switch I should use. Does it need to have two
outputs to the reciever for amp draw? I keep reading that the Jr style connector can only handle 3 amps is the reason for that question. Also what size fuel line 3/32 or 1/8? I will probrably have more ?s

Thanks for any help, James

My setup so far

70" Slick
DLE 30
4x 985mg
1x 225mg
Hitec Aurora 9
optima 9 reciever

Thanks for the advice. I am going on a business trip today. Will be back tomorrow night or Wednesday. So, I will post some pictures then.

I was thinking about ways to trace the bulk head pattern on cardboard and then transferring it plywood. One tough part will be figuring out how to cut it all out without wrecking it. Those bulk heads have SOOOO much wood removed.

I just run the one lead off the switch(heavy duty) to the rx battery port...the otherside goes to the battery of coarse. My Wike BE plugs into the gear port.

I used the 3/32 nygon fuel line.

Thanks Goldcraft!!! Do you know where I can source the a123 batteries from
that might have them in stock. I found a place that has it but no balance
connector installed.
