It depends on what servos you chose. I'm running HS-985s off the ICE 100 built in bec. No problems.

I've got 2 planes, 68 Velox & 70 Slick, running the ICE100 on the internal BEC. Slick has digital servos the Velox has analog. No issues with either, 200+ flights.

Run what makes you comfortable.

I couldn't wait any longer for one for my Velox...but the SLick is coming to this house sooner than latte.

I have a Motorfly 3625-800 (perfect for 57"SC) sitting here NIB. Ken would be good enough to let me return it, but that aint fair. I'm hoping his newer/bigger 6S motor will be good for the Slick and he will then let me return it (with restocking charges) and put the credit towards the bigger motor for the Slick...and one of his 100+ amp ESCs for it.

Do many run a Motrofly 100amp ESC? They work AOK?

Dude, this new wind he put on the motor in my 70 slick is very good on 6s.Stupid power with the 20x10 prop.I'm gonna put a 19x10 on it when it gets here and see if can drop the amps little bit. They are within what the system is rated for,but I need a little less bite in hover hehehe.I still have the other motor in my box,am gonna send it to him and let him rewind it to 383kv also. Then put it in either a big vyper or a velox.

Several of us are very happy with the 12L, you may need to make adjustments to get a spinner gap you are happy with (search the thread for "12L" and you can find all the details). I have the HV-85 and separate CC BEC in the Slick but am using the ICE 75 and internal BEC in my 68" Velox (HS-985) - rock solid so far.

Probably I'm wrong, but I can remember some people reported problems with integrated CC ICE100 BEC and digital servos in harsh meneuers, at this thread.

At least that's why I have purchased CC BEC PRO .

If you run the numbers through scorpion's motor calc program, the 4025-12 is a better motor on 6s. And lighter too.

With the 4025-12 on 6s and an apc 18x10e prop:
8062 g (274 ounces) of thrust at 73.3 mph = 94 amps and 135 degrees (f) motor temp.

With the 4035-380 on 6s and an apc 20x11e prop:
7297 g (257 ounces) of thrust at 64.8 mph = 111 amps and 150 degrees (f) motor temp.

The 4035-380 on 6s and an apc 19x10 prop:
6326 g (223 ounces) of thrust at 61.3 mph = 100 amps and 136 degrees (f) motor temp.

on 6s with 18x8 i got 94-98 amps and temps were around 140 degrees f i dont know what thrust was but watts were around 2300,it is a great motor.
pulled the slick around fantastic yes.

I have the 4025-12 with a xoar 18x8. I think it was pulling 83 amps and a little over 1800 watts with a 6S Zippy 5000 20C pack. The plane has unlimited vertical and pulls out of a hover very well.

I don't know which programm you are using, but check out their data charts and their scorpion calc.
http://www.scorpionsystem.com/files/...data_chart.htm 4025-12
http://www.scorpionsystem.com/files/...data_chart.htm 4035-380

4035-380 are supposed to be more efficient.

At their charts using 18X10 props they'v got:
236,34Oz thrust @21V;96Amps (2016W);6657RPM with 4025-12
232,81Oz thrust @22V;78Amps (1716W);6564RPM with 4035-380
Which means that using 18X10 prop you get 0,117 Oz per watt using 4025-12 VS 0,136 Oz per watt using 4035-380

yep either motor will work great.my battery pack was further to the front of the battery tray with the 4025 but who cares the battery tray is the most roomy one ive had in a plane.hey for around 100 bucks the 4025 is a winner for sure.and the collet prop adapter has not come off for me yet.

You can't compare those motors using the same prop due to the different KV. I'm betting an 18x8 on 4025-12 (440KV) will give about the same power and efficiency as an 18x10 on the 4035-380 (380KV).

+1 18x10 Id put money it would pull well over 100amps,and the motor would not last long.esp if its an apc prop.

Lighter motor with higher KV will allways be less efficient. Cause of heat.
But 15% difference at their data charts seems a but too much to me.

They have tested these at some strange voltage levels.
