Highly doubt this would have any affect on the way the planes flys either way.

Checked my 71 and it's CF. I thought it was paint at first but using an razor blade it does splinter like CF should.

In other news, the new rudder is now installed along with Steve's side stiffeners. Also took the heat gun to her for a much needed covering tightening. She hits the skies on the next nice day we have.

As most of you know, we like to handle customer service issues directly with the customer. Posting here or any online forum before giving us or our dealers a chance to respond does not help the process.

With any mass produced product there will be items not up to par. We are working with this customer to resolve the problem. Thanks to all that have offered help.

I am sure we would all like to hear the story behind the black paint on the formers that used to be carbon fiber. What's up?

I have heard that is happening with other brands of planes too, so, probably not a 3DHS problem per se, and not really something that 3DHS can really address, other than to contact the manufacturers of Ultracote and ask them what is up....But that still won't do anything for the folks having a problem.

I forgot about that. My 71 Slick has not even seen sunlight and it is peeling. My 51 Slick is peeling too. Kind of a bummer.

I guess just iron it back down at about 300 -310degrees and see if that helps.
