BEC pro sounds like a good way to go. Anyone ever heard of one failing? They seem pretty solid. I like not haveing to always worry about the charge state of the receiver pack.

Just got an orange one, I'm excited for the build but trying to decide what to use.
1-Servos I'm thinking 7954's
2-Motor Motrofly but don't know which one yet, 4325, 4330 or 5320. Or should I go hacker? Which one?
I'm planning to run 8s 4000 to share batts from my 57.
3-Should I get a bec pro or can I just plug a 2s lipo straight into the rcvr. How many mahs for rcvr pack?

tks

I have a red one on the way. I'm going 5320 on 8S, 7954s, ICE 100 and BEC pro thanks to all the help I got on this forum.

If you want to run the Align DS610's/Savox 1258's (same thing) I have a set I would sell. I have long aluminum arms on the aileron/elevator ones. They are super fast, and plenty strong for this size plane. Low number of flights on them all. Interested?

Just joined the 71" Slick club.

I'm thinking about using the 7954s that everyone seems to like and I already have a CC Ice 100 esc. I have 5 new 6s 4000 batteries for it too. What motor should I run?

Congrats...my vote is for one of the three motrolfly options... I use the 4330, which has amazing power.

on 6s and an ice 100a you want the 4325-380, 4330 is possible on 6s, but you need a bigger esc as it will push 120a

I would also add a BEC Pro to the list, as digital servos draw more current than analog servos...

Not to mention running 8V to the HV servos your looking at. Inverted is right about the motor... if you went with the 6s setup on the 4330 you would need a bigger ESC.

You can easily swing a 20X10 APC on a Hacker A60-6XS and use a Castle ICE100...
