Guys I am in the processor building this slick. I am putting 7955 in it should I use the arms it comes with or get the aluminum ones. And if the aluminum ones which kind do you prefer ?? ( I think there aluminum !)

I like Spot-on arms from Aztech AeroModel.... The problem with any of the aluminum arms, is that they are tapped for M3 or 4-40. I buy the 4-40, drill the hole out to fit these Dubro pull/pull crimps, which have almost a perfect M2 interior diameter. You will have to cut them down to length...but this is easily done.

The stock arms provide plunty of throw. I get 50 on the ailerions, maxed out rudder, and 60+ degrees on the elevator. More than enough to huck.

Thanks guys ! If I do decide to use the ones it comes with do I need to shave a side of the arm off? I do think I am going to go with the custom arms as you said Steve. I have top line everything in this plane. I would hate for one of those arms to strip and lose a plane over that.

well the swb's interfered with the ballend. I had installed it with the drilled out thread at 1 1/4" and used the pull pull bushing as above and that worked a charm but anything past 40 degrees caused interference so double arm modified to one sided and its good to go.

tried the protek 24x12 from Amainhobbies. Me likey. The price is right too for a wood prop! about 23 dollars if I remember correctly.

What I always do to give better ball link clearance is to use longer screws and put a nut between the ball and the arm.....gives plenty of clearance.....

Thanks Steve that's good to know. Now this might be a stupid question but the protective cover(wrap) that goes over the ignition wire. What is that called?? And do you know where I could get some? I can't find the one for my new DLE engine and I know it has to have it. I was going to order some but I don't know what it is called.

Spiral wrap....Radio Shack, Pep Boys, and most other auto parts stores....also Home depot (pretty sure I saw it there)

Is it normal to have to install a aluminum arm with the screw? It will not push on like a plastic horn?

Also what vess prop is good on the OS GT33?

While I do not use SWB arms, so have no experience with them, I have heard some of them go on very tight. So....if you are using SWB arms....yes....I use "Spot on arms, and other than the rudder (dual arms), they go on fine, but as noted the dual rudder arms can be......difficult....

Yes, that is normal for SWB arms..They have a much tighter tolerance than plastic arms do.

Just draw it down carefully with the servo screw and all should be good.
