is there anything special that needs consideration for 4-40 ball links on a 70?

Slick all structurally repaired, now to put the covering back on.



Some of the seams aren't perfectly flush, but hell, it wasn't perfect to start with.

Perfect is the enemy of good enough. Looks good to me!

good job! sandpaper and a little filler for uneven seams..I'd throw some covering on and go huck tho if it were me.. well done.

Oh fear not, gentlemen. This thing is gonna look like a junkyard special when it's done. LOL

The LHS was out of white patching, so I got some black. I'm gonna do a checker pattern in black and white over the repaired area. Should match the BLUE and white wings well!!!!

Yeah....they don't fit.....You can't get them between the control surface horns....and you don't need them.....

Got a newb question about my 70"

I had a e-flite eratix 3d plane. I put her in a steep dive and I got flutter so loud like a bumble bee the ailerons ripped off. My buddy said tape the ailerons with packing tape next time. I learned the hard way. Eratix was destroyed!

On the slick 70" do I need packing HD clear 3M tape in between gaps on the elevator and ailerons? I mean having a gap made me a true believer of flutter and can rip the control surfaces right off.

Personally, I like to use the same colors of Ultracote to seal the hinge line. That said. If I remember correctly, the wings are already sealed on the 70" and if you have a good close gap you really don't need to on the stab or rudder......If you want to seal the gap, then either use the previously mentioned Ultracote, or Hinge tape (also known as Blenderm)..

I think I'm doing something wrong. With the longest hitec arm for the 7955 I can't get 45 degrees on the elevator.

So how could I use the SWB servo horn tapped for 4-40 with the current ball links?

With the long double arm (and cut half off) l get 60 degrees

I'm getting somewhere around 40 with the wheel that comes with Savox's servos.
I'm getting ready to mount some of AirWild's 1.5" aluminum arms on mine, I'll see what I get then!

EDIT: Just measured the wheel arms I'm using, 3/4" from center of horn to center of linkage bolt. I'm gonna be doubling that with the AW arms! :EEK:
