i shot Ken a text.I "think" he wound that one for just a tad more kv as per request..Dont quote me on it as i just now sent the text. He's in a different time zone than me so his cell may not be in operation yet..Once i hear it from the man ill pass that intel off to ya.
Either way.still loving my 280 kv smoking the 8s... 295 probably would spin the same prop a bit harder if you needed.

All motors of this size are "custom" winds, since he hand winds each of them. You choose the kv you want, he makes it. If you want something different from what is listed, simply put a note in the comments section.

Hi everyone

We're having a great spot of weather in the UK at the moment! Went up to my local field this evening at 5PM to fly. I'm on top of a hill and dead still, no wind at all, haha! Fairly warm too I got some nice pictures of the Slick as seen in the attachments!

Unfortunately the wings ripped off in flight later on I was doing a knife edge and put some negative elevator on and the wings flew off. It was one of those things that took me a few seconds to process it actually happened. Unfortunately it crashed down the hill so I couldn't see the crash but I think it was quite spectacular I think the balsa wood on the fuselage around the screw snapped off. I will say this; it made it a lot quicker to pack up in the car, haha! Airframe is a right-off but I think everything bar the prop is fine!

I think there should be a club (is there one yet?) for people who rip their wings off! I don't know what to call it yet though, lol!

I will be definitely getting another 71 when they come back in stock at GlobalRC! Will try a Hacker motor instead this time! That should probably be around late 2012 early 2013 hopefully!

I was doing a knife edge and then using a bit of down elevator to make it go around if you see what I'm saying When the wings came off, they were flapping in the air but holding on to the fuse, looked quite strange but pretty cool!

EDIT: this is my 500th post, woohoo!

sounds like you are saying that you were doing a knife edge outside circle?

really sorry to see this happen to your plane. Do you think the material around the wing bolts just failed? or do you have another theory? This is a very unusual result with a 3DHS airframe??

Do any of you think it might have been something with the heavier motor I was using? That AXi is big! And these airframes have an absolutely incredible track record for reliability and strength! Maybe the heavy motor was too much?

Not a knife edge spin, but I did do that about a minute before, haha! I was flying in knife edge attitude

As you say, it doesn't seem right! 3DHS along with all the other high quality 3D brands produce incredibly strong and reliable airframes at great prices! I think the AXi motor I was using may have been too heavy for it
