And if you were throwing a Frisbee, the same people would probably gripe, because their dogs wanted to catch the Frisbee!! Some people will complain about any thing...

Case in point....About 40 miles away from me, there is a huge "wind warm' with lot's of wind turbines. People complain about the "swishing" noise from the blades. These same people complain about nuclear powered power houses, coal powered power houses, and natural gas powered power houses. And...they also don't like the looks of "solar farms" and complain about those too...

Ya and then they all go home flip on the lights, turn up the heat/air, open the cold fridge and set down in front of the TV. No problems using the juice since they don't even know where it comes from.

Nice!!!! How many watts? Pack size? Im seriously contemplating on getting a 71 slick. I already have 6pcs 6s 5000mah 25c packs for my 25% and 30%. But if im going hv might as well do 8 or 10s. How many amps you pulling? Would you be able to get away with 10s 3000mah?

If you have the 6s packs already the plane still performs very well with the hacker A60-6xs and the motorfly 4325 380kv for a lite setup.

Actually I'm pulling quit a bit less than Losi's. His 8s setup is a different Kv version of the same motor I'm running. The biggest prop I've ran so far was a 22x10 Xoar. I only got a two flights with it as the second flight was when my batteries ejected through the canopy. I did get the first flight with that setup on video. The 22x10 was around 2700watts @69Amps with fresh packs. I'm flying at that field I was talking about. Nothing special it was just a test flight but you can hear what sort of sound she makes.

I'm running 3300mah packs in mine. On the 20x10 I could easily get 7 minutes if I wanted to push it. I run a 6 minute timer and have plenty left. I like to be safe.

Never weighed it, but I'm pretty sure it's under ten pounds, and if I remember correctly, 83 amps. I tried to use a Castle HV-85, but it was limiting the power. I went to an HV-110 and no problems. A lot of guys are using the Ice 100, and getting good results.

I still say my tried and true A50-12L / 8s 3700 25C / ICE100 71 is one of the best. Super light, Great power and plenty of flight time with 5 mins. Still the recommended setup, you can do 6s or 8s just fine with a swap of a prop. Although if you were dead set on 8s the A50-14L would be better as you can run a 19" prop instead of 18".

With the 71 though it has so much wing you can load it up pretty heavy and still fly well. Who said Losi's 2700/3000 watts of power wasn't enough right?

yeah its something about that 300 watts per pound and over 2 to 1 thrust to weight ratio (22 pounds of thrust on a 10 pound plane )
