LOL, totally forgot he had that "ink" on

.....build is going fast, with what little time I have to work on it. Wheels, Pants, L.G., Rudder, Tailwheel, Stab., Elev. & wing decals are done.....all that in about 2hrs. total actual "build" time over the course of a few nights. Very well thought out hardware and build on this one, hats off to 3DHS as usual

Something ejected off my plane.

I was doing many Knife edge spins today. It seems harder to get into them than the 51" slick. It seems to require a little aileron or it rolls out. My 51" and Edge do them with no aileron at all. My Extra SHP and 330sc require aileron also. Maybe the 70" Slick is a little more extra and a little less edge than the 51".

On one of the knife edge spins I saw something fly off the plane!!
I landed safely and saw that the spinner flew off. The extreme flight spinner was already cracked on more than one post where I tightened to hard on the screws and cracked the plastic so it was bound to happen.

I did notice my motor kept doing the knocking sound again on climb out from a hover. After the spinner ejected it happened rarely. Maybe the motor liked the cool air going to it with the spinner blocking its airflow. It was in the low 40's today.

Build Pictures

Here's some of my build pictures. Maiden is tomorrow and will get more pictures once I put the decals on and the pilot is in.

This is one sweet plane. Bigger is better!! Oh yeah, the HS985MG Servo's are awesome. They center and are plenty fast.

Cory,

Nice installation. Can't wait to see the Rimfire 1.20 on the 70". It looked ballistic on the 68" Velox Scott has. Hope to see it this weekend.

Very clean looking setup Cory. I'm looking forward to seeing how you like the in-flight performance of your Rimfire motor.

I'm actually going to be running a Rimfire motor in my 57" SC as well.

Best of luck on the maiden.

Nice pics Cory. I like the clear covering idea to direct the air inside the fuse. I actually used 1/8" balsa to do the same thing. I didn't even think of using covering to do it...much easier and nicer looking!

Cory, nice install, and good idea on the aileron servo lead. Up until I saw your solution I've been fishing around in the wing to pull my lead out.

I used some heatshrink around the servo wire, and glued it to the inside of the wing. Same idea, but may be more likely to have heatshrink laying around the shop.

Cory,

Great idea with the foam keeper on the wings. Are you planning on doing some off-road/off-field flying with those wheels? They look perfect for going mudding.

Unfortunately, some folks don't have the luxury of being able to fly off of short grass or runways.

I fly at a park that has the fastest growing grass I have ever seen. One inch after being cut, three inches by the end of the week. I have to use three inch wheels, even on my 55" Yak, and other planes of that size.
