I usually get all my Xoar's from Chief Aircraft. I talked to them to see what size hole was drilled in the center and it was 10mm. Not sure why they did that when usually all the 14 and 15 inch prop holes are around 5-6mm?
I got the 18x8 from Abell RC. They did not have 18x10, only 18x13.
Joe used a piece of Carbon fiber wing tubing to shim the 18x10 he has so it would fit on the 8mm prop shaft. I ordered a 18x10 Turnigy to try also.
Between me and Joe we should have some good numbers by this weekend.

The 18x10 Xoar's are hard to find.

May need a 19 inch prop for that. Don't remember if any were ordered with your HC order or do have one? 2300 watts would be cool. May have to do 7s packs for that .

Those look like they should work fine, but they're a little on the slow side at .2 seconds. You'd definitely want to run them at 6V. The price is right though!

Y'all know what it looks like but here are a few pics of ESC and mounting. If I had read Scott's post about mounting the ESC underneath I would have done that, but had already fashioned a piece of lite ply with balsa to hold it steady and allow airflow on all sides.

Also created an EPP guard for the protruding bolts for the motor. Maybe unnecessary, but with 8S my batts are on the sides of the battery tray and directly in front of the bolts, if my batts ever get loose they're heading straight for the bolts

Specs:

70" Silck
AUW with batts 9.2 lbs naked (No pants )
8s 3700
CC 85HV
Scorpion 4025-16
Dimension Engineering Sport BEC
4-Hitec 985's

Watts 1985 @ 67 amps Turnigy light electric 18x8

Ron,

What info did Scott post about mounting the ESC underneath?

I don't have a 19" prop in your order but you can borrow my 19x10 Turnigy electric wood to test. Bring the reamer this weekend and remind me.

Stoops had a post with pics showing the esc mounted on bottom of battery tray with battery leads coming up from bottom. With my two batteries on the sides of the tray, it would have been a very direct route to take for RX connections and power. It also seems that there is a ton of room under the tray for airflow, but being the lazy guy that I am, I didn't re-mount the motor with the leads on the bottom.

Too slow. I've had those before. Go with the HS985MG. Perfect servo.
You don't need digital's and the 985 will be plenty.

Thanks for replying....as I am not really a 3D flyer (though I'm trying), I would think they will work for me, and yes, on 6 volts.

Download from the swap forum to your desktop then use import on RealFlight's file menu.

+1 on this. True Value has the same spacers, they are black, perfect length, and a nice snug fit in the 10mm prop. hole once the I.D. is reamed out to 8mm and the nylon expands a little.
