Anyone want a free Scorpion 4025-16? All you have to do is buy the box, $80, but it's a REALLY nice box!
I am going to pull my Scorpion off though if someone want's it PM me w/ a price. It's in great shape, has probably about 2 dozen flights on it at the most and has never been crashed. Unless this motor would work in the 62" Osiris... |

I have the X-4 and what everyone else is saying is true, it's going to take a while to charge 4S on it. I have charged (4) x 4S 4000mah and the max Amps I can get is 3.3A. I don't like to push my batteries during charging so it works for me but expect about an hour or so to put back 2500ish mAH. I like the charger though because I have all types of batteries and I can charge 4 of them at once.

It's not that I don't like it, I'm just pushing it a little too much and before I do any permanent damage to it I'd rather replace it. When I was on the 18x8 I was at 1950 Watts which was no problem for the motor but it's getting hot here so I threw a 19x8 on it because the hot air was killing my pullout out of hover. I flew it a few times w/ the 19x8 at 2200ish Watts and the motor came down warmer than I wanted. I do like Scorpions though, this is my 4th one and I've never had issues with them. It's also a lot lighter than most motors it's size.

The 4C packs I have are HobbyKings Turnigy, or Lifespeed, or whatever sticker they had laying around that day. They are all 40C and (so they say) can be charged at greater than 1C. One guy on the HK comments says he charges them at up to 5C, but I wouldn't want to try that in my shop! I dont even charge A123's over 4C! Out of all my electric planes, I'm down to two different batteries, 4000 4S and 2100 3S, and I bought a ton of them. Charging one at a time sucks! Rob, I'll look into that new Hitec charger. When will you have them in? And I want one of your plane handle things!
Today was my first real day of flying my 71". The Xoar 20X8 was the ticket! Amazing the difference an inch makes (that's what she said!)! I'm pulling 2340 Watts, and the packs are warm and the motor is warm but you can keep your fingers on it. Not bad being it was 100 out! This thing hovers as easy as a foamie! i just hope my buddy doesn't need his prop back before I replace it! Anyone try a 20X10? I think my plane can pull it, no sweat! I have my timer set for 7:10. I'll have to see how many mAh I'm putting back into them. Is anyone getting 8 min plus? |
