Thanks.

That was going to be my last resort

I tried the "apc" inserts today, on the 10mm Xoar's, they are just a tad small and don't sit snug in the hub, slide right out the back of the prop., doesn't make me feel good. I've pretty much given up on finding the correctly drilled 18x10 Xoar, I think I will just get some 18x10E APC's first, then look at the 18x10 Turnigy later.

Thanks! The cockpit I made from scratch, the pilot is a hangar 9 30-33% size and was the 'all white' so put a base coat of blue and then hand painted the silver on, printed off some bulls and stuck to the front of helmet and just detailed a little red here and there. Job done....

+2 really nice.

Rob-

I've been able to put a ring or two of heat shrink tubing around those apc spacers on occasion to make them fit snug in props. You can even glue two spacers back to back if you want a deeper spacer.

The masking tape deal worked quite well for the three flights I got in. Still have not made it to the hardware store to look for something more permanent. I ran into Mike from Hacker at a funfly in Surprise and he said he thought he recalled some company making an aluminum bushing but could not recall who.

Prop didn't get more testing as I jacked up my gear area I bounced hard on 1st landing of the day and I think came down hard on the left gear. My wheel pant took a hit and gelcoat is toast. Did not think too much about it as I'm used to the small planes which can take so much abuse, but on 3rd flight take off to vertical I saw something fall off the plane which turned out to be part of a former above the gear area. I have some work to do to get it shored up but the gear itself seems perfect.

The 18x10 did seem to give a bit more punch and the bird drew quite a bit of attention. I think at least a couple more folks will be looking at a 70" 3DHS in the near future.

Thanks guys, looks like those Hyperion parts have an OD of 9.55mm which matches the APC props. Very close to 10mm but as Rob said when using the plastic APC ones there was a little wiggle room.

Since I just went to 7S my 6S hyperion VX G3 6500 are up for grabs look in classifieds.

The Slick is amazing. Will we see a 104" or so? I would love to see one in that size.

I landed the 70 hard as hell today. Humbling. The Xoar lost about 2 inches off both blades. The plane looked like it jumped back off the runway. I added a bit of power and brough it in smooth after the bounce from heck. To my surprise the landing gear suffered almost no damage. There is some compressing of the wood at the left side gear right at the egde of the fuse. With a bit of epoxy and a push it will be back to perfect. I almost did not even see it except the covering had a minute wrinkle.

I think any other plane of mine would have lost the gear. I was schocked due to the posts I saw saying the gear box was broken due to a pancaking. I guess my huge bounce and prop sizing was not as hard. I am impressed with the strengh of this airframe.
