The Icarus Challenge. How high have you gone?

Has this been discussed? Didnt see anything..

Im wondering what is the maximum altitude above ground youve flown to.
Please specify your rc transmitter too (i.e 72mhz, 2.4ghz...)

As far as my FPV setup, Im more interested in altitude vs distance traveled.

But anything above I've heard tell of a few mavericks like Cyber-Flyer that maxed out their altimeter to 9,999ft and kept climbing between 20-30k ft.

However he also stated that he beieves Giorgio Azzalin http://www.noskylimit.com holds unofficial altitude record of around 31000 ft

I dont know why the 400 foot myth keeps getting perpetuated...

400 feet is the AMA guideline. There is no law on the books that says you cant fly any higher. The same rules that apply to ultralights apply to us. You cant fly into controlled airspace... thats it...

the AMA is a private organization that has no control over anything we do... (unless we are trying to use their insurance of course)

I was hoping this conversation would not turn into one of these discussions...
